Objective
Seeking a geotechnical based internship for Summer 2016. Known for leadership, problem-solving, and communication
skills. Aiming to gain relevant experience in the discipline of geotechnical engineering specifically in geophysical
surveying and geotechnical construction services.
Experience
Connect Christian Church Summer 2015
 Worked as an intern under the youth minister.
 Responsibilities included creating and presenting lessons on Sunday mornings, leading bible studies, leading and
overseeing camp sessions for high school and middle school aged students, and weekly meetings with my mentor.
 This internship helped me further develop interpersonal skills, public speaking abilities, and presentational acumen
among other valuable skills.

Fabrication Automation 2011-Present
 Work as a general contractor
 Responsibilities include restoring used machines taken in on trade, installation of new machines at customer sites, used
machine removal and transport from customer sites, taking inventory, warehouse organization, and shipping of
parts/consumables.
 This job as afforded me the opportunity to develop unique problem solving skills, exceptional mechanical capabilities,
and novice electrical and welding capabilities. Additionally I have experience operating forklifts and hauling trailers.
This job is hard dirty work, and it has forged a unique work ethic that I believe will be hard to find in other candidates.

North Carolina State University 2013-Present
I am majoring in geology with a minor in history but have taken soil science, botany, and horticulture courses as well. My
cumulative GPA stands at a 2.7 and my major GPA stands at a 3.1. I have been exposed to ArcGIS software and have done
work with it in the past. My geology course experience includes intro, earth systems science, historical, mineralogy &
petrology, sedimentary petrology & stratigraphy, and igneous & metamorphic petrology.
Jay M. Robinson High School 2009-2013
I graduated with a 4.2 GPA taking honors and AP courses throughout my high school academic career. I was a part of the
cross-country team and a three-year starter on the wrestling team winning a state championship and placing in the top 3
every year as I learned how to be a leader among my peers. I participated in student government for three years as well as
Beta Club and the National Society of High School Scholars.

Skills
 Extensive experience examining rock thin sections and hand samples of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary
rocks specifically for modal mineralogy and sample identification.
 Some experience with sediment transport calculating boundary and critical shear stress of sediments.
 My interpersonal communication skills are a strong suit of mine as well as my public speaking abilities.
 Experience operating heavy machinery including forklifts and excavation machinery.
 Exceptional mechanical skills.
 Experience with soil identification and have soil science knowledge.
 Quick learner and can pick up new skills easily.
 My previous work experience as a youth intern as well as a general contractor at Fabrication Automation has
helped develop flexibility and an ability to adapt to dynamic work conditions.
 Limited experience and exposure to ArcGIS software but have worked with it in the past.
 I enjoy working outdoors rain or shine, hot or cold.
 I have the ability to work well in groups and can lead effectively.
 Experience working with Microsoft Excel, HTML, and Terminal software.
