Support Officer for Care Leavers (Temporary role)
Transforming Lives Company, Chingford and Loughton, U.K.
Worked in supported accommodation for 16-18 year old troubled youths
that have left parental or foster care. The role required me to manage
aggressive behaviour and help teens to leave behind illegal habits and
become sound members of society.
Plant Intern
Goldplat Gold Recovery Ghana Limited, Ghana
Worked at a South African owned gold recovery plant that utilizes the
carbon-in-leach process alongside a spiral separator and incinerator to
recover gold from mine waste across Ghana and West Africa. Some
requirements of my role was to account for the gold grade in incinerated
carbon through mass balances, assuring quality control and identifying
I am an enthusiastic and diligent Chemical Engineering graduate, eager to learn and obtain
further experience in the engineering industry. Consistently interested in developing the skills
I have acquired by implementing theory into practice and solving real-world problems, I am
keen to find ways to move towards a more sustainable Earth. I appreciate the practical aspects
associated with projects and enjoy working with others as part of a team. My particular
engineering interests are in the application of systems that utilise waste materials in a
production of a source of renewable energy. This was a focus point in my research project that
explored diverting UK waste wood from landfill to produce charcoal as well as other
marketable by products.
2011 – 2015 M.Eng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering
University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K.
My course focused on design project management and delivery, and
developing crucial team-working ability. As well as establishing a strong
chemical engineering education, it has enabled me to research and analyse
information in a professional manner to ensure practical engineering
solutions.
Modules included:
• Environmental Management (achieved 76%)
• Plant Design (achieved 77%)
• Process Engineering Project (achieved 93%)
• Multiphase Systems (achieved 73%)
2009 – 2011 “A” Levels: Mathematics (B), ICT (B), Chemistry (B)
Pre-U: Physics (M2)
Shrewsbury School, Shropshire, U.K.

potential reasons for loss of grade. These aspects involved undertaking
experiments to assay gold grade in carbon delivered and incinerated. I
also created a database program that replicated the hard copy logging of
mass balances in plant processes, which included an operating manual.
The internship concluded with a report on my duties at the plant and my
insight into the different processes, including suggestions to improve
functionality.
July 2008 Student
Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC), USA
I was selected to participate in a two-week leadership development
programme in the USA, involving a large-scale model UN exercise. I
enjoyed working within the large diversified groups, developing my
communication, negotiation and inter-personal skills.
