Jean-Paul Sandrock Jr. is a civil engineering student at Louisiana Tech University projected to graduate in May 2016 with a 3.06 GPA. He has conducted student research on developing a new movable bridge design that eliminates steel mesh reinforcement. He is proficient in MathCad and AutoCAD and familiar with RISA and Solidworks. In high school, he was inspired to become an engineer through his involvement with his school's robotics team. He held internships with the Louisiana Department of Transportation, Steele Street Café, and Southwest Engineers.

We are trying to achieve a new movable bridge design that
will eliminate the need for steel mesh reinforcement in
brides, thus reducing sound pollution and maintenance
costs.

Honors
Northshore High School Robotics Team
Joining this team in high school inspired me to become an
engineer. Through the division of about 30 students into
various teams, we were able to build a robot that competed
in a national competition. Searching for sponsors, working
with mentors, and the teamwork required for each section’s
design to work on one robot gave me a great introduction
into the engineering world.

Experience
Department of Transportation and Development
Covington, LA June 2015-August 2015
Adjusted project plans to reflect fieldwork measurements
and ensured proper compensation for contractors work.
Through field work and meeting attendance, I developed an
understanding of the issues and responsibilities a
construction engineer faces and how to correct issues as
they arise in a professional manner.
Steele Street Café
Slidell, LA June 2013- August 2015
Juggled several different responsibilities due to the small
size of the café. Two people generally worked in the
kitchen and were responsible for salad, fry, expediting,
prep work, grill, and dish washing together.
Southwest Engineers
Slidell, LA June 2012- August 2012
Organized shipment of chemicals to companies and
labeling them as hazardous. Improved shipment efficiency
by creating check lists for individual companies’ shipping
requirements. The following summer the company
restructured at the CEO level and I was unable to return,
but I have since been contacted for job opportunities.
Tiger Green Lawn Care
Slidell, LA June 2011- August 2011
Speckled T’s Slidell, LA
Slidell, LA June 2006- August 2010
Started as a dish washer and was promoted to preparer,
cook, and expeditor and learned the importance of
versatility and persistent hard work. The family restaurant
often fed about 200 guests a night, and I developed the
ability to perform well under pressure and instruct the other
works on what I needed and how to quickly fix mistakes
