4. Step 1: Write Suggestion
Specialized suggestion sheets will be visible and easily
accessible all over the plant
Pens provided at every site

Suggestion Categories:
• Safety eliminating hazards
• Quality Customer complaint reduction, eliminating re-work,
reducing scrap
• Delivery Improving on-time delivery, reducing lead times
• Inventory organizing, eliminating un-needed material,
improving flow between warehouse and production area
• Cost/ProductivityImproving output, reducing material and
product cost
6. Step Two: Feed Suggestion into System
The suggestion box will be kept outside Ann Racheva’s
office AT ALL TIMES (unless specified otherwise)
Suggestions may be dropped into the box anytime
between 7am Friday and 7am the following Thursday
Suggestion Evaluation committee will meet every
Thursday afternoon
NO SUGGESTIONS TAKEN ON THURSDAYS
7. Step 3: Sorting
If suggestion is approved by evaluation committee it is
placed in one of two categories: Silver or Gold
Gold Breakthrough suggestions, have the potential
to dramatically increase efficiency, productivity, and
eliminate waste
Silver Ideas that have potential, but potential impact
is smaller and/or unknown
Rewards connected to suggestion category
8. Step Four: Feedback
No suggestion will go unaddressed and
communication will be given throughout the process
Feedback Scenarios
• Denied Suggestion did not pass company approval
• Approval Suggestion passed company approval
• Implementation Approved suggestion has been
established in company routine
9. Step Five: Approval
If your suggestion is denied you will be notified the
Friday after the evaluation meeting
If your suggestion is approved you will be notified the
Friday after the evaluation meeting
Approval means the company has decided to further
evaluate your suggestion and take it to the
implementation stage
All approved suggestions automatically receive a
reward (after implementation)
10. Step Six: Implementation
Implementation disclaimer:
Every suggestion submitted is equally important to MacLean
Power Systems. We promise your idea will be considered
fairly and reviewed promptly. However, due to the
unpredictable nature of our business and restraints on time
and resources we ask you to please be patient and allow a
30-90 day period for implementation if your idea is
approved by the company.

12. Rules
When an employee has a Silver suggestion approved they begin at Reward
Level 1 (receiving an official MPS pen)
As employees have Silver suggestions approved they move up the pyramid
(R1 R2 R3etc.)
Silver officially ends at Reward Level 6. If employee has enough Silver
suggestions approved to move past Level 6 then they move into Reward
Level 7 and the Gold rewards
If an employee has 12 Silver suggestions approved then they make it to the
top of the pyramid and an ALL EMPLOYEE LUNCHEON CELEBRATION.
When an employee has a Gold suggestion approved they begin at Reward
Level 7 (receiving Bobcats/Panthers tickets)
As employees have Gold suggestions approved they move up the ladder
(R8 R9 R10…etc)
Gold officially ends at R12. If an employee has 5 Gold suggestions
approved then they make it to the top of the pyramid and an ALL
EMPLOYEE LUNCHEON CELEBRATION.
Anytime a Gold suggestion is approved, the employee has the option of
foregoing the usual reward and opting for an ALL EMPLOYEE
LUNCHEON EVENT(Employees Choice..within reason)
