4. A Note About Distances…
We need to get a good feel for the distances involved in what
we will be discussing about Comets and “Planet X”.
We will be considering things in units of roughly 100 Million
Miles.
This is also roughly the distance between the Earth and the
Sun, so note:
1 AU = Distance from Earth to Sun = ~ 100,000,000 miles
So, for example:
Jupiter is about 5 AU from the Sun (between 4 and 6 AU from us)

It is now possible to detect small
planetoids/dwarf planets A LONG WAY AWAY...
QUAOAR Quaoar is approximately 800 miles in diameter and is slightly
farther away from the Sun than Pluto. It is made primarily of ices.

it's the third largest Trans-Neptunian Object after Eris and Pluto. Originally designated 2005 FY9,

Bunny". Since Kuiper Belt objects are all officially named after creation gods, 2005FY9 was named

9. A few Distant Dwarf Planets
Discovered Since 2000 - 2
ERIS (formerly known as 2003 UB 313 or Xena) was first photographed in
October 2003, but was not detected until January 2005. Its discovery was announced in August
2005. This object is about the same size as Pluto and currently about three times farther away
from the Sun than Pluto.. It is made of ices, much like Pluto. It takes this new planet 557 years
to orbit the Sun just once. Its orbit is tilted nearly 45 degrees up at an angle compared to the
plane of Earth's orbit. Eris has one known moon, Dysnomia

SEDNA Sedna is the most distant object yet discovered in the solar
system. It was discovered in 2003. It is roughly three times further away than Pluto, well
outside the Kuiper Belt. It is approximately 1000 miles in diameter and takes nearly 10,500
years to go around the sun just once. Currently, scientists have not officially classified Sedna as
either a planet nor a dwarf planet, Sedna was named after an Inuit Goddess of the Sea.

12. Amateur detection of
Near Earth Objects

Question:
Is it possible for an amateur astronomer to assist with detecting near-Earth asteroids or
comets? If so, what would be the minimum telescopic aperture and type of photographic
equipment required to conduct this kind of research?
Amateur astronomers can and do play an important part in detecting near-Earth objects.
Today more than 5% of all near-Earth objects are discovered by amateurs and this proportion
is on the increase. The Minor Planets Centre (http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/) based at
Harvard University is the organisation responsible for cataloguing and archiving all
discoveries of small bodies in the solar system and have a wealth of information to help
potential amateur astronomers. The professional search programs typically use telescopes
with a diameter of ~1m; LINEAR, one of the longest running and most successful programs
currently has two 1m telescopes and a 0.5m telescope. When conducting searches smaller
telescopes are to some extent preferred since they have a larger field of view and can image
a larger area of the sky at once.
When you have your telescope, discovering asteroids is still not trivial! Because these objects
are particularly faint (due to their size), the detectors being used (usually a CCD) need to be
sensitive enough to be able to distinguish them from the background noise from the device.
For CCDs, when they are cooled the background noise is reduced and because of this, most of
the CCD detectors you can purchase for amateur astronomy today use fans to cool the CCD
well below the ambient temperature.
Even with both of these, the main requirement to successfully discover asteroids and other
small (and faint) objects is a dark site with good seeing (clear, still skies). Combining all of
these things together means you could potentially discover some new asteroids!

The image on the right was taken by Chuck
Shramek. It garnered a lot of attention due to
his appearance on the Art Bell Show on 18 and
19 Nov 1997. A few years later, Shramek
stated on his website:
Here's the picture that I took that caused such
a stir on November 15, 1996. I simply asked,
"what's that Saturn-like thing near the
comet?" All hell broke lose up to and including
blaming me for the mass suicide of a strange
group in California. Real "astronomers" say
the "thing" I photographed is a star distorted
by my telescope. I have recently taken a
picture of the very same area of the sky. (It
had been impossible to photograph for several
months because of the proximity of the Sun.)
My new pictures clearly prove with digital
clarity that the "thing" in the above photo is
not this star alone. The star they say I mistook
for the "thing" is much dimmer and it does not
produce a "ring" effect. For that matter, no
star I have ever photographed (and I've
photographed thousands) produced this odd
"ring" effect.

“Months before I took this picture, I smelled
a cover-up of the good pictures of the
comet. The pictures from the major
observatories went away from the web in
May of 1996. The Hubble pictures went
away in October of 1995. Hubble pictures
posted later were deliberately degraded.
This is why I decided to launch my own
observation campaign. It got so silly that
NASA and JPL were posting crappier
pictures than I could take.
I now think I have a good grasp of why they
were covering-up the good pictures. Good
close up pictures of the comet nucleus
revealed a cosmology that contradicted the
accepted paradigm. To a few fearless
astronomers willing to really look at the
evidence, comets reveal a much different
solar system history. It's a history that
includes other technological civilizations on
other planets only several million years
ago.”

If you rotate this image counter-clockwise
about 45 degrees, and compare this to
Shramek's image (with it oriented with the
long axis top-down and the "object" on
top), you will see that the bright two stars
above the comet in Shramek's image will
match the two brighter stars above center
in the DSS image. [Editor's Note: the image
displayed here has been rotated in the
manner Alan describes.]
Palomar Image of Same Field of View
Shramek's "mysterious object" is nothing
more than the bright 9th-magnitude star
appearing in the DSS image. The "Saturnlike rings" are nothing more than a
diffraction effect (see also the spikes from
the same star in the DSS image), a
phenomenon which has been known and
understood for centuries.

22. Most Likely Explanation for
The Hale Bopp “Companion”
Now comes the smoking gun. Shramek was using
the computer star atlas program MegaStar … In
MegaStar the user can set parameters such as:
magnitude limits…. If the star magnitude limit is
set at less than 9, or if the GSC catalog has nonstars toggled off, or if the PPM catalog is toggle
off (in Version 2.0 or higher) then SAO141894
will not appear. This can happen very easily, and
is most likely what happened to Shramek.
MegaStar users must remember that there are at
least TWO magnitude limit settings, one for stars
and one for NSOs (non-stellar objects). When I
ran the program with the star magnitude limit
set to 7 the chart below was the result. Notice
that the label for SAO141894 is there but the star
is not. On Shramek's web site he shows a
MegaStar chart for this location in which not only
the star but the SAO label is missing. This is
because he had the labels option turned of in the
program.
So when Schramek looked at MegaStar and did
not see SAO141894, he concluded that he had
found the mysterous object which apparently he
had been looking for (this becomes more clear
when you read his email later).

Dry Surface

Comets are sometimes described as "dirty
snowballs," but a close flyby of one by NASA's
Deep Space 1 spacecraft last fall detected no
frozen water on its surface.
Comet Borrelly has plenty of ice beneath its tarblack surface, but any exposed to sunlight has
vaporized away, say scientists analyzing data
from Deep Space 1, managed by NASA's Jet
Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.
Dr. Laurence Soderblom of the U.S. Geological
Survey's Flagstaff, Ariz., station, lead author of
a report on the Borrelly flyby results appearing
in the online edition of the journal Science.
"We know the ice is there," he said. "It's just
well-hidden. Either the surface has been dried
out by solar heating and maturation or perhaps
the very dark soot-like material that covers
Borrelly's surface masks any trace of surface

31. Summary of “Dirty Snowball” vs.
“Electric” Comet Models
All sources you will find on NASA and similar websites
talk about “Icy comets”.
Articles, papers and postings, like the ones I showed will
claim Ice has been detected, therefore the “ dirty
snowball” model is correct.

The other data about compounds (such as olivine) that
could never have formed “in a snowball” are rarely
discussed.
If the anomalous data are discussed, Scientists would
normally say “Well, yes, we know about that but it’s not
significant compared to the other data which proves the
‘dirty snowball’ model is basically correct.
To move away from the “snowball” model would make
their lives more difficult…
Note: The Electric Comet model does NOT preclude the
presence of Water or Water Ice in cometary nuclei.
The “Thunderbolts” website is concerned with the
evidence which proves that electricity – perhaps more
than gravity – has played a significant role in the

How was it found? The discovery of C/2012 S1 (ISON) was announced on 24
September 2012.It was found by Russian astronomers Vitali Nevski and Artyom
Novichonok on CCD images made with a 0.4-m telescope of the International
Scientific Optical Network (ISON) near Kislovodsk, Russia. The comet was further
from the Sun than Jupiter 6.6 Astronomical Units or AU distant (an AU is an
astronomical unit, equal to 150 million km, the average distance the Earth is from
the Sun) and was a very dim Magnitude 18.8 when discovered (objects dimmer
than Magnitude 6 cannot be seen with the unaided eye).

Great Siberian Explosion Over Tunguska in 1908…
It is still unresolved as to what the object was – some
think it was a comet, but for the size of the explosion,
a crater and/or recoverable pieces would seem to

45. Did a Comet/Asteroid Strike Decimate
England in About 532 or 562 AD?
Since about 1982, Alan Wilson and Barrum Blacket have
been writing about this in some of their books – they
came across accounts during their research into the real
story of King Arthur.
There are unexplained Vitrified Rocks found in Ramparts
at 200 Hill Forts Around Northern Europe – dating from a
few hundred years BC to a few hundred years AD.
Bolivia is also reported to have had considerable effects
of some type of impact, about the same time.
From the Anglo Saxon Chronicles – written by Geoffrey of
Monmouth (1130AD):
“And then a Star of enormous size appeared to Ythyr, having a
single shaft, and at the head of the shaft a ball of fire in shape of a
dragon, and from the dragon’s jaws, two beams went upward, the
one beam reaching towards the farthest parts of Ffraink and the
other beam towards Iwerddon, which split into seven smaller
beams. And Ythr and all who saw this spectacle feared, and they
asked the wise men what it might mean. And then Merddin wept

There is no observable risk of Comet Ison crashing into the
earth.
Asteroids and Comets are probably very similar – or even the
same – fragments of larger bodies which were formed in
collisions, explosions or “plasma discharge erosion”.
Objects do crash into the earth every day – but the larger
they are, the rarer they are, it seems.
More Near Earth Objects are catalogued every day.
The truth is that we could indeed be destroyed at any time by

ago.

What did IRAS Find?
The conspiracy theory of IRAS is primarily due to there
not being any follow-up news reports. NASA obviously
put a lid on the news according to the Planet X
supporters. In reality what IRAS found was not an
exciting or newsworthy discovery. Nothing unknown
and mysterious for sensational headlines as in the case
of the 1983 story.

So what did IRAS find? A knot of interstellar cirrus,
which is simply an area of dust grains between the
stars. This would not make a very exciting news story,
certainly not up to the 1983 Washington Post story.

77. Planet X - Conclusions
I have seen no credible evidence that there is a large planet anywhere
in our solar system.
It seems to me that if an amateur can detect a comet only 5 miles in
diameter when it is as far away as Jupiter, they would easily see a larger
object much further out – with advanced and semi-automated
observing equipment.
All Planet X predictions have so far been hopelessly wrong and at least
some of those promoting the stories don’t understand the figures they
are using and the images they are seeing – they don’t seem able to
compare them to data about the solar system that we already know
and can observe.
The Sun may have a binary star companion – or an additional planet –
but it must be extremely difficult to detect if it is there bearing in mind
that:

Objects smaller than Pluto have recently been observed at far greater
distances.
Over 1000 extrasolar (outside the solar system) planets have now been
detected – by using missions like Kepler.
Though NASA could be well be covering up knowledge about a present
or ancient “Planet X”, it would be far more difficult to keep Amateur
Astronomers quiet about such things – they’d want their names in the
history books!
Perhaps Sitchin’s Planet X is not in the orbit he says/said – or has been
confused in Mythology for something else.
It does seem like there may have been another Planet in our Solar
System which exploded, as Tom Van Flandern (deceased) has
hypothesised.

78. Overall Conclusions
Comets come round every few years but are
currently not predictable in the way they will
appear to us.
More observations and better technology now
allow us to catalogue and analyse Comets and
NEO’s more thoroughly – but this does little or
nothing to increase our safety from the effects
they could have – at short notice.
Planet X may be out there – but it’s a LONG way
off and probably not that big or warm/hot!
“Catastrophists” and Preachers will likely exploit
the fears created by the passage of Comets and
the occurrence of natural disasters - as much as
they have always done.
Oh, and 21st Dec 2012 was said, by many to be
some kind of “cut off” date, but I feel little
different in Nov 2013 compared to this time last
year. I, for one, have not “ascended”… However,

Predictions have – errrr… Been WRONG!
Sadly, we have borne witness to quite a few
disasters in the last 20 years, such as
Tsunamis, Oil Disasters, Wars, Powerful
Storms etc.
It seems these will continue to occur.
This exploitation of fear will only end when
the knowledge of hidden advanced
technologies that can “change the whole
game” is more widely understood and those
covering up this knowledge are fully
identified and their agenda halted.
Then, we will not be subject, to the same

81. A NASA Spaceweather Update has just noted that Comet Ison is now visible (see below). I have been asked by Omar Fowler to talk
about Comet Ison at his Derby PRA Group on Tues 26th Nov (this is very local to me) - so I am doing some research on it. Some think
Ison will be very bright - some thought it was set to crash into the earth (seems like that is said of almost every comet that comes
around now). I will also be talking about the recurring themes predicitions of catastrophes etc.
The traditional explanation for comets - in most text books and websites - is that comets are "dirty snowballs" - a mixture of dust and
