large-scale command post exercise to test OPLANs, and oversaw complex security cooperation plan
with the Jordanian Armed Forces to counter instability emanating from Syria.

and civilian MARSOF instructors.
• As Operations Officer, Foreign Military Training Unit developed a holistic plan to establish this
new command (later renamed Marine Special Operations Regiment). While establishing the unit,
also oversaw the development of the FMTU employment plan for deployments across the globe;
oversaw all pre-deployment training and preparations of Marine Special Operations Teams; oversaw
the development of the Marine special operations Initial Training POI, a 6-month intensive
foundational training course and forerunner to the current qualification course (ITC).

Brigade 2002 to 2005
• Handpicked by SOUTHCOM G3, and personally approved by Commander USSOUTHCOM, to be the
Senior Advisor to the Colombian Counter-Narcotics Brigade. Assisted in planning & executing long-
range helicopter-borne operations against the FARC. Assisted the special operations effort to
recover American hostages from ISR plane crash. Flown back to Bogota to brief Ambassador Anne
Patterson and the Embassy Staff on Colombian Army counter-terrorism and counter-narcotic
operations
• Primary Exercise Action Officer for exercises Peacekeeping – North, Peacekeeping – South, &
Tradewinds; supporting efforts to exercises UNITAS and New Horizons.
Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Security Force Company Europe 2000-2002
• As first Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Security Force Company Europe, established a unit
responsible for rapid deployment of Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Teams (FAST Platoons) in response
