WHAT IS SPA TOURISM?
The term ‘Spa’ is derived from the Latin phrase, Salus per Aquam which means health by water, in ancient time people
used to travel to hot or cold springs in hope of effecting cure for some illness. Even in modern times the therapeutic
property of water is being used to treat various health disorders. The international Spa Association has defined Spa as”
places devoted to overall well-being through a variety of professional services that rejuvenates mind, body and spirit”

WHAT ARE BENEFITS OF SPA TOURISM?
Stress buster: To day, life has become more stressful with increased career competition and family demands as well.
The stress of achieving career goals, financial security, maintaining social status and allocating the required time to
family keeps an individual on the toss. The anxiety and stress are significantly responsible for high prevalence of illness
in current urban population. With busy schedule and scarcity of time, it has become difficult for an individual to spare
some time for oneself.
