4. DISCRIPTION
According to my story board I am trying to show how Indian histotical clothing made and impact
on modern fashion in india.like we can see a lots of changes has been taken place in fashion like
the way of wearing saree,dhoti,turban and many more.
HISTORICAL FASHION TRENDS AND ITS IMPACT ON MODERN INDIAN SOCIETY
Bell Bottoms, Retro style, Bobby printed matter, intelligent textiles, Sadhana, zero size
modulations and body modulations like tattoos, piercing etc
During the Mauryan dynasty (322–185 BC) the earliest evidence of stitched female clothing is available from
the statue of Mother Goddess (from Mathura, 3rd century BCE). Ladies in the Mauryan Empire often used
to wear an embroidered fabric waistband with drum headed knots at the ends.
These fashion had been marked by fashion trend from Indus, the Indus valley civilisation followed
by Maurya, Sunga, Satvahan, Kushan, Gupta, Mughal & Brittany.
For example-Indian Saree, the symbol of Indian
tradition is one of the oldest form of clothing

this powerful drape and are making efforts to re-
establish and reinvent the saree in their collections

First generation of indian fashion designers;
Satya paul, rohit khosla,tarun tahiliani, abu jani-sandeep khosla and others.
Satya Paul is one of the top fashion designers
of India. One of his major contribution to
Indian fashion designing has been the change
in the way the saree and salwar kameez by
innovating the vary form and drape of it.
His avant-garde designs merged Indian weaving techniques
with contemporary palettes and revolutionized the saree,
giving birth to pieces with polka dots, zebra or adorned with
abstract patterns.
Tarun Tahiliani specialises in elegance.The best known
for his constant innovations of the sari
Using karigari like chikan-work and zardozi but
stuck to simpler indian silhouettes.
6. Indian clothing from ancient to modern
• Clothing in India varies depending on the different
ethnicity, geography, climate and cultural traditions of
the people of each region of India
• India also has a great diversity in terms of weaves,
fibers, colours and material of clothing.
• Colour codes are followed in clothing based on the
religion and ritual concerned.
• Indian fashion scenario is known for its cultural
heritage, elegance, and colourfulness. It brings out the
subtlety and beauty which has sustained through
innumerable decades. For not only is it comfortable,
sophisticated and aesthetically beautiful but it has
also evolved over time.
• The inspiration for fashion is endless. The cultural rich
heritage of India not only influences Indian fashion
designers, but has also been a source of inspiration for
international designers.
