• Founded in year 1958 by brothers Dan & Frank Carney in Wichita,
Kansas, USA.
• Borrowed $600 from Mother and Partnered with John Bender.
• Free Give Away on the night of opening.
• In year 1959, opened their first franchise
by Dick Hassur.

4. • In the early 1960s, it grew aggressively.
• Robert Chisholm joined the company as treasurer.
• In 1966, the number of Pizza Hut franchise units had grown to 145.
• A home office was established to coordinate the businesses from
Wichita.

6. • First franchise in Canada was opened & IPHFHA was established.
• In the year 1970 Pizza Hut announced 500th Restaurant in Nashville,
Tennessee, USA.
• In the year 1971, it became world’s largest Pizza chain.
• At the end of 1972, Pizza Hut made its long-anticipated offer of
410,000 shares of common stock to the public.
• Carney said in 1972, “We about lost control of the operations. Then
we figured out that we had to learn how to plan.”

$3.17 million in 1974.
• PepsiCo Buys Out Company in 1977.

• Performance review is a formal process in Pizza Hut twice a year.
• It includes PA forms for every particular job which involves :-
• International Pizza Hut standards.
• Assessing the employees’ actual performance relative to these standards.

• I would have focused more on Advertisements.
• Will decrease variety seeking buying behavior.
• Will offer membership / discount cards for loyal customer.
• Start sponsoring events.
• Will provide board games at every outlet to attract more customers.
