Garden Goddess - Organic Gardening Services
Establishing my own business as an organic gardener specialising in advising and helping people to grow
vegetables organically in their own gardens as well as supplying traditional gardening services such as
planning, planting, weeding, pruning, maintenance and aftercare.
Voluntary Work - National Trust, Penrose Estate, Porthleven
Working in walled garden with other volunteers. Ranger works including traditional hedge laying and coppice
work. Involved in creating new bridle pathways and establishing an organic vegetable and fruit garden.
Completed Level 1 & 2 in Organic Vegetable and Soft Fruit Growing, Oct ‘13 to Feb ’14. Working in walled
garden of Penrose Estate this course has provided hands-on practical experience of the theory behind organic
vegetable and soft fruit growing. The rewards and progress of learning of which can be seen on visiting the
walled garden which is open to the public.

Manchester International Caribbean Carnival - Manchester
Following the success of the Hulme Festival and Regeneration Project, I was invited to join the newly formed
MICC Forum in a consultative role to initiate a Vision and Strategy Plan. Following successful funding bids,
I became Head of Troupes and Floats. The role entailed establishing workshops: liaising with troupes
nationwide & local authorities: Operations Manager planning and timetabling the event, the first of its kind in
the North of England.

The Hulme Festival - Hulme, Manchester
Moved from London to Manchester and worked with a team of local volunteers to establish a festival in Hulme.
The ethos behind the Festival was to promote Hulme for education and business and to enhance the lives of
the local community during the 4 years of the Regeneration Project. After the first successful festival it
became an integral part of bringing the regeneration process and the community together. The Festival was
such a success that it continued until it was absorbed in to the Manchester International Caribbean Carnival
in 1998. My role as Director involved establishing the Festival as a legitimate not-for-profit organization, fund
raising, Operations Manager, Budget Planning and Accounts, Compliance and Marketing and Performance.
