1. Recommendation letter for Ana Cristina Berbel 24th September 2OI2
To whom it may concern,
It is with utmost pleasure that I recommend an incredible individual that I have had
the pleasure to work with - Miss Ana Cristina Berbel. Cristina came to Australia from Spain to
teach Spanish full-time on a volunteer basis for a 6 week period from August to September
2012 through AIESEC Melbourne's Second Language Acquisition Program (SLAP).
Throughout her period of teaching, Cristina has proven herself to be an incredible teacher
that has blended a combination of interactive teaching, great humour, and a genuine
interest in the learning of herstudentsthat has resulted in hergroup of students having
conversational fluency at speaking the language after just 6 mere weeks of learning. Cristina
is highly independent in her work and meticulous in her preparation for every class, always
having class plans prepared well in advance and displaying high attention to detail.
ln addition to the teaching Cristina has been involved in planning and confidently
facilitating sessions to share her country's culture with her student through activities such as
quizzes, dance classes and cultural presentation. Throughout the program, she has also been
highly proactive and constantly sought feedback on the ways that she can improve her
teaching. The result of the passion she puts in her teaching is evident in the consistently
exemplary survey results on her teaching from all her students. At the end of the program,
she was approached by a large group of her students to continue private tutoring sessions
beyond the scope of the SLAP program.
ln addition to her dedication and passion of her teaching, Cristina is also a well-liked,
adaptable, and persevering individual who will make a great addition to any team. The
success of the SLAP program is, by a large part, through her contributions in coming to
Australia on a volunteer basis, quickly adapting to a new culture, and immediately taking
charge of developing a curriculum to teach over 40 students. Despite her primary role as a
teacher in the volunteer program, it is my sincere opinion that Cristina possesses the
exceptional interpersonal skills, diligent work ethic and the adaptability required to succeed
in any roles that she should so choose to pursue.
It is without hesitation that I write this reference letter for Cristina to recommend
him to your organisation. Should you require more information, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
