  1. 1. What is Thanksgiving? • Harvest celebration • People have a feast and say what they are thankful for (family, friends, good health, etc.) • First Thanksgiving was in 1621 at the Plymouth Plantation • 3 days. 90 Native Americans and 50 Pilgrims • Caught eel and grew corn
  2. 2. Who celebrates Thanksgiving? • USA • Canada • Grenada, Liberia, The Netherlands, Australia, Saint Lucia, United Kingdom
  3. 3. When is Thanksgiving? • USA=Fourth Thursday of November (this year: Nov. 26) • Canada=Second Monday of October
  4. 4. No school! • Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday • 5 days off
  5. 5. Football • NFL has a game on Thanksgiving for everyone to watch. • The players of the winning team have a Thanksgiving dinner on the field before they go home to their families.
