– IAF is a global organization of accreditation bodies, accredited verification bodies and organisations
involved in conformity assessment activities. The accreditation bodies of IAF members are national
accreditation bodies.
– Accreditation means third-party attestation related to a conformity assessment body conveying
formal demonstration of its competence to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks.
– IAF members' accreditation process based on ISO/IEC 17011:2017. 32 IAF MLA members
implement ISO14065 accreditation and received peer evaluation to ISO/IEC 17011 and ISO 14065:
(Regional group. EA 25, PAC 6, IAAC 1) Total number of accredited verification bodies under IAF
MLA for ISO14065 is 207 (EA 137, PAC 55, IAAC 55).
- IAF has structured IAF MLA for ISO14065 by developing a harmonised global approach for
accreditation and maintaining the arrangements as to promotes trust and builds confidence among
accreditation bodies through their ability to determine the competence of verification bodies and to
assure accredited verification process consistent equal reliable.
– Supporting developing mandatory documents as the basis for the IAF MLA to ensure the equal and
trustable accredited verification statement for global ICAO scheme.
– Supporting developing countries to establish an accreditation infrastructure for ISO14065 with
local accreditation and verification bodies through capacity building trainings.
