Huntington Beach, CA.
PROFILE: A professional leader with experience in diverse regulated industries
(McDonnell Douglas, Boeing). Responsibilities include: product development,
production operations, program management and engineering. Bridging the gap between
engineering and production, is my expertise, including working with project managers on
a daily basis.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in Long Beach, CA. (1985-2001)
Hired directly from college, into a year long training program. My time was spent on the
MD-80-90 production line, as well as the KC/DC 10 sub assembly areas, and final
assembly on the C-17 Military Transport Aircraft.
MD-80-(1986-1994) Duties included supervising 300 UAW workers on the final
assembly lines. I was promoted to Business Unit Manager in the late 1980’s. Duties
included managing a multi-disciplined team of engineers including avionics, structure,
interior, and paint. Responsibilities incuded managing cost, and schedule, while
achieving results which exceed the customer expectations.
C-17-(1995-2002) As the rate of the MD-80 slowed down, I transferred to the Military
Transport Aircraft, as a Business Unit Manager (middle management). My experience
with the Military, for the next several years, rounded out my career, operating under
military specs, guidelines, and immersing myself into this government program.
Managing costs, staying on schedule, and within the budget allocated for this program.
(FVSD)-Fountain Valley School District-(2006-present)
Instructional Aide (SH/PH) in a moderate/severe SDC (special day class) in the public
school district in Fountain Valley, Ca. I began as a substitute Instructional Aide, in the
public school system. Duties include daily instruction, using modified curriculum, ABA,
or best practices, as well as encouraging, and supporting this population to become
independent, with this community based curriculum.
2007- I became a permanent employee in the FVSD, and increased my hours, to the
maximum allowed, in this part time position. As a permanent Instructional
Aide, in (SH/PH) capacity, in a Special Day Class (SDC) my duties include
the following: we use ASL (American Sign Language) to communicate, and
encourage independence, with the non verbal population, as well as with the
autistic and downs syndrome population. I have worked closely with the
mobility specialist, speech and language therapist, occupational therapist, and
physical therapist that work in our classroom weekly. I’ve gained a wide
variety of knowledge, while keeping on schedule and on task in the
classroom. Additional duties include operating various standers, walkers,
2. wheel chairs, and transferring these students in, on and around campus. There
are “push in” classes, where this population has “inclusion” with the general
education student, on this public school campus. I assist the students in
woodshop, art, and other math and science classes, as needed.
