2. Step one: Print new UB requests. (UB=Universal I-Share Borrower)
•
Open the CallSlip Daemon and login using your staff ID and password. When the
daemon opens, you will see a list of pending UB requests.
•
Print all requests. Open the file menu. In the "Print" submenu, click and in the
"Print" submenu, click <Print All>. The requests will print one to a page in ascending
call number order to make it easier to pull from the shelves.
Step two: Retrieve requested items from the shelves.
•
Take an empty book truck (if necessary in the case of a lot of requests) and head
into the stacks. Work through the stack of request slips, placing each slip inside the
front cover of the book as you pull it. Place pulled items on the truck in call number
order.
•
If you cannot find an item on the shelf, note that on the request slip and continue
with the next request.
•
When you have worked through all requests, return to the desk to processing the
items.
3. Step three: Process filled requests from the book truck.
• Take the first item from the book truck. Search for corresponding request in the
daemon using the Request ID, which is printed at the top of the request slip.
•
When you find the request, double-check to make sure the request on the
screen matches the book in your hand by double-checking the barcode.
•
Next, process the request:
•
If there is a barcode on the request form, right click the request and then
click <Fill>. (You can also select <Fill Request> in the dropdown menu provided
near the bottom of the screen.) Click <Process>.
•
If there is no barcode on the request form, right click the request, then click
<Fill> (or select <Fill Request> in the drop-down menu). Click <Process>. The
“Link Item” dialog box displays. Enter the barcode of the item and click “Search”
or press <Enter>. The item will display. Click <Process>.
•
At this point, a routing slip will print automatically. This slip must accompany
the item being shipped for delivery. Insert the routing slip into the item.
•
Repeat these steps until all items on the truck have been processed and are
ready to be shipped.
4. Step four: Process unfilled requests from the remaining request slips.
•
•
Find the request that matches the first request slip.
Select the appropriate No-Fill reason from the drop-down menu near the
bottom of the screen.
•
Repeat until all remaining request slips have been "un-filled."
