INTRODUCTION
A little about myself and why Mechanical Engineering was the path I decided to go. With this
portfolio you will see the skills set that I have commandeered over a period of time. I went into
Mechanical engineering for many reasons. The first reason was that I fell in love and was fascinated
on how things worked and what made them work. Originally I was just going to go into drafting only.
When I took Civil Engineering for my associates I had no idea it was going to take me on this amazing
journey. Being able to do calculation on design concepts was thrilling, knowing that your calculations
have to be exact. Engineering is great because there is never a dull moment, it is like a puzzle that
you have to sit there and solve. There is always a new problem, and to be able to come up with a
solution is satisfying. With the experience that I was able to pick up, it helped me be able to work
independently when need be and also be able to work in a team orientated field. I had to learn to
maintain a positive and professional attitude even when I wasn’t given the same respect back. This
also helped me be able to develop excellent communication skills. I wouldn’t change the direction of
the path I chose in a million years. My goal is to constantly keep learning and help improve in any
mechanical field I end up in to make it better.
