The Story
Australia
David Jones is an Australian based, world-
class department store retailer offering a
wide-range of high quality merchandise to
its customer for over 175 years with 38
stores nationwide.
Having recently been purchased by the
South African Woolworths group, a host
of new brands were launched into the
Australian market for the first time within
the David Jones retail stores.
Manufactured and implemented over
just a 3 month period, the 7 brands were
rolled out across the full store portfolio
resulting in a successful launch for this
new venture.

South Africa, UK, Far East, Australia
Combining design, manufacture and
implementation across 4 continents with
multiple operational teams were just some
of the key challenges which this project
successfully overcame.
Designed in South Africa, with
development in the UK, manufacture was
undertaken in the Far East with delivery
and installation completed onsite in
Australia.
The project featured over 300 unique
items across metalwork, joinery,
upholstery and acrylic manufactured to
the high quality essential to contemporary
retail interiors.

as a brand.
Featuring sleek, contemporary fixtures
and furniture, with combinations of
rich material textures - timber and felt
contrasting with the sharp linear grey
structural forms.
7. JTONE
David Jones
Australia
This brand is youthful, fun and sassy with
bright eye popping colours and a range
that includes everything from
lingerie to slippers.
The energetic spirit of the brand is
captured in this retail concept with neon
colour detailing, that contrasts with the
warming timber and fabric poufs.
Large format graphics shout out to
the target market, whilst neon lighting
completes the visual feast.
8. DISTRACTION

An enticing, elegant lingerie brand,
sophisticated and stylish with an elevated
premium outlook.
The furniture within this scheme is
conceived to echo the fine lines and details
of the lingerie, to be as light and effortless
as possible. The curved elements soften
the environment reflecting the feminine
personality of the brand.

An authentic Denim brand, with an
eco heart (utilising natural dyes and
sustainable manufacturing techniques).
This unique and stand out interior
concept echos the natural ethos of the
brand, featuring generous use of spruce
throughout, and particularly in the
structured backwall which identifies and
delineates this brands location.
Complimenting the retail concept are
innovative ECO Mannequins, developed
and designed by Global Display.
