To Whom It May Concern,
It is my privilege to write a letter of recommendation for Alyssa McQueen. Alyssa was a
student in several of my classes and during that time, I believe I got to know her pretty well. I
also love watching softball and since she was a member of the varsity softball team, I enjoyed
watching her play catcher on the team. Alyssa has several excellent attributes that I believe help
to make her a successful person. She has great communication skills, she has a solid work ethic,
and she has an attractive and friendly personality. These characteristics would make her an
excellent employee in many areas of business.
First, Alyssa has very good communication skills. She speaks clearly and with great
confidence. Her understanding of the English language is excellent. On her written assignments
in the class, I was always able to clearly understand her arguments, and I noted that grammatical
errors were extremely rare. In fact, she was one of the best students in that regard in the classes
she took with me.
Second, she displays a consistent work ethic that I admire. I give essay exams in many of
my history classes which means students must be fully prepared. Despite the fact that I know she
has many responsibilities outside of the classroom, she always showed a solid command of the
material, demonstrating that she had studied. Typically, she would have one of the highest grades
in the class on tests.
Third, Alyssa is a very gracious and friendly person. My daughters would often serve as
batgirls for the UNOH softball team. Alyssa always treated them with great kindness and made
them feel welcome. In class, she continued this trend. In fact, it was common to see her with a
smile on her face, and she frequently greeted me when she came in the classroom.
Because of these attributes, it is my pleasure to recommend Alyssa for any position
where friendliness, solid communication skills, and a consistent work ethic would be valued. If
you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the University of Northwestern Ohio.
Sincerely,
Dr. Philip McMurry
