 Showed exceptional multitasking and organizational skills by caring for up to four
mother-baby couplets per shift with a variety of health complications.
Perinatal RN, BSN, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. August 2012-
October 2014.
 Excelled as Charge Nurse 1-2 times/week with the ability to assist RNs with their patient
load as well as manage the care of up to 13 couplets on the floor
 Managed care of high risk antepartum patients with a wide range of serious conditions.
Performed NSTs as ordered and identified when and if patients needed to be transferred
to higher level of care by working with the OB team
 Provided care to mothers with acute conditions such as mild and severe pre-eclampsia,
and administered magnesium sulfate when clinically indicated to protect against seizure
activity and the development of eclampsia
 Experience with mothers with chronic conditions including but not limited to cardiac,
neurological, types I and II diabetes, and organ transplants who require continuous
monitoring and assessment due to dynamic changes in acuity
 Identified infants at high risk for sepsis and communicated with pediatric team to quickly
treat with IM antibiotics or transfer to NICU for higher level of care
 Assisted with the implementation of blood sugar protocols for high risk infants, such as
small for gestational age, large for gestational age, and infants of diabetic mothers
 Trained in breastfeeding support and education by UCLA as they approach the
designation of Baby Friendly this coming winter
 Some labor and delivery training, including triaging patients, vaginal deliveries, and
cesarean deliveries
 Chosen by peers to serve as a leader of the Unit Practice Council to assist in the
implementation of new policies and procedures on the floor, as well as act as a liaison
between the staff nurses and administration
