Sharks are predators “apex “
According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, the number of sharks hunted worldwide for their
fins, has increased alarmingly by 200% since 1991. Moreover sharks do not help their defense to
hold powerful jaws and "abandon", occasionally a tooth in a marine float chamber for the study
of the species in question.
Relatively recently from sharks have become one of the most studied marine species by
scientists.
A team of scientists, videographers and divers among which are: James Malcolm, Peter
Benchley, Rodney Fox, John Keesing, and others, has set itself the task of showing that the shark
is not the evil murderer who appears on screen , so they are studying their behavior. This has
been based in Gansbaai South African waters and Kleinbaai where water stays warm in winter
and temperature attracts sharks because they "like".
This research is being sponsored by the "National Geographic Society", and hope to publish their
findings and theories about the behavior of this huge "beast" to the extent that the gain and
substantiate their surety and truth, so that more people interested in him and to create laws to
protect it. As in fact exist in Australia and the United States.
So far it has published an article in the magazine "National Geographic", in which the
researchers show different "angles" of the shark, which to their surprise, had not thought were
possible, and the fact that the white shark can jump out of the water in one swift motion to
capture its prey.
Sharks are predators “apex " that is found in the top of the food chain , understand the Navy , are fish
that have a cartilaginous skeleton with even and odd fins and tail heterocerca . The body is fusiform and
the head is continuous with the body without moving neck. The placid scales toothed lining the skin,
give it a touch too rough. Unpaired fins are distinguished in dorsal caudal and anal ridges may be
provided with a bone marrow. The paired fins are the pectoral and ventral, first developed in some
cases significantly. The skeleton, completely cartilaginous, may be calcified in part, but there is never
true bone formation. The braincase is formed by a cartilaginous capsule that surrounds the brain and
sense organs and extends above a face. The splanchnocranium is formed by the mandibular arch ,
whose dorsal is linked statically or allowing some movement with the neurocranium , hyoid arch gill
arches five , rarely six or seven. The spinal column consists of vertebrae including remnants of the
notochord.
The fins are supported by spokes cartilaginous and at its distal corneal radii. In the paired fins distinguish
a waist basal part, the radial and corneal radii.
