1. Welcome
This presentation is about Wool scouring process
and all Information is Collected from Slide share,
Google and other web side.
Thank you for coming today.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
Thank you for coming having me here to speak
today.
I am Alrafi shuhad Student of Uttara University.
Today I am Talking about this topic Wool scouring
process.
2. Wool is a natural fiber produced by
sheep. Sheep grow wool on their
bodies in the
same way people grow hair. As
wool grows out from the sheep’s
skin,
it forms groups of wavy fibers
called staples. This natural crimp
(wave) gives wool. degraded by
alkhali.
3. Wool is soft, strong,
lightweight,
water–repellent and fire
resistant.
Wool can absorb up to
30% of its weight in
moisture
4. Wool scouring is
the process of washing wool in
hot water and detergent to
remove the non-wool
contaminants and then drying
it. It has always been an
important step in the wool
processing train. A growing
concern for the environment
has led to increased demands
on the scouring process.
5. Row Wool
Wool coated with grease ( also mud seeds and thorns picked up
in the fields)

LANOLIN
Wool loses about 30% its weight when
the grease is removed this is purified to
male lanolin and used in face and hand
cream, soap and ointment.
11. Carding
The fiber are passed
through a series of metal
teeth
Carding also removes
residual dirt and other
mater left in the fibers.
12. Combing takes out the
shorter fibers also called
noils and lines the longer
fibers up parallel with one
another in a sliver ( A sliver
is a long bundle of fiber that
is generally used to spin
yarn )
13. During the spinning process
the fiber are twisted into a
long. Continuous thread, or
yarn. This used to be done
with spindle whorls.
14. After weaving both worsteds
and woolens undergo a series
of finishing procedures
including.
