Allen School Online Medical Billing & Coding Student Review: Marie
1. An Allen School Online Medical Insurance Billing & Coding
Student Testimonial:
Hi, my name is Marie Robinson, and I am a recent graduate of The Allen
School Online Medical Insurance Billing and Coding Program. However, my
experience with The Allen School did not start with this excellent program; it
started in June of 2006 at the Allen School (Jamaica Campus) with the
Medical Assistant Program. Therefore, I am an Alumnus of this educational
institution.
My story, I am told, is unique and I was asked to share it with all of you.
You see, originally, many years ago, it was my passion to work in the
medical field, nursing to be exact. Upon graduating from high school, I was
attending CUNY Hunter College, and working towards obtaining my nursing
degree. Then, I was given a challenged and/or dare. I was told a very dear
friend (male), that I could not pass the entrance test and/or perform the
duties of a New York City Police Officer. Well, I just had to prove him wrong.
So I took the exam and passed all the requirements/qualification and
became a New York City Police Officer and left college. For 20 years, I
performed a public service to the citizens of the City of New York, rising up
through the ranks from Police Officer to Detective Investigator. It became
my life’s passion help people.
Then, upon retiring, feeling still too young to just sit and watch TV, I decided
to return to my original passion, the medical field. I looked into many
schools that offered different types of programs in the medical field and The
Allen School was the one that pasted my test and offered to me what I
wanted to obtain for a second career. I enrolled and completed the Medical
Assistant Program, obtaining National Certifications in the areas of Medical
Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, and ECG Technician through the National
Center for Competency Testing before graduating. And immediately
obtaining employment; actively working, and enjoying every minute, as an
Independent Contractor as a Para-Medical Examiner ever since.
Then, I received information regarding the Medical Insurance Billing and
Coding Program, through the Allen School, however, this time it was Online.
After, much thought and discussion with family and friends, I enrolled, and it
was the best thing I could have done. The staff and instructors, through this
fantastic program, have armed me now with not only clinical knowledge, but
