“CARING-OUR WAY OF LIFE”
MAY 2014
A Message From Your Lieutenant Governor
Hello everyone! As the school year
is coming to an end, we are all
inundated with last minute tests,
quizzes, and projects, and final
exams! As we prepare to leave our
last marks on this school year, Key
Club may seem a little hard to
focus on. No worries! In this
newsletter, I have included many
ideas and projects you and your
club could easily accomplish!
As new officers are being elected, I
would like to take a brief moment
to address Key Club projects and
awards.. Throughout the year, Key
Club and Kiwanis partners up to
help those all around the world
through various projects and
organizations such as, The
Eliminate Project and the
Children’s Miracle Network. I
want to strongly encourage you
all to look into projects
contributing to these
organizations. Helping these
charitable organizations could
help you all achieve recognition
for your club’s outstanding
service!
To the new officers, I advise you
all to look at the Carolinas
webpage to view the awards you
can achieve through outstanding
service in this upcoming year!
Yours in Service,
Alice Zhao

Dear Club Secretaries,
As this new Key Club year is approaching, new
officers are being elected. I would like to ask you all if you
will send me a list of all of the newly elected officers with
their contact information (such as an e-mail and/or
phone number), through e-mail. My contact information
is on page 4 of this newsletter. This is to ensure early
success in communication between us.
As a newly elected secretary, one of your duties
is to go on the Carolinas’ website and fill out a club
monthly report for your club. This is to ensure that the
district board sees your overall accomplishments and to
be able to help your club should there be any struggles.
These should be submitted on the 5th
of every month.
Sincerely,
Alice Zhao
Lieutenant Governor, Division 15
Dear Club Advisors,
As this new Key Club year is approaching, it is very
important to establish a strong and stable relationship
to ensure success of our clubs. I strongly recommend to
you to keep your club active year round. This is to
ensure that this year will be strong and successful.
As Club Advisor, I ask of you to please e-mail
me your name, contact information, and the days and
times of your club’s meetings.
I look forward to working with you and your club this
year!
Sincerely,
Alice Zhao
Lieutenant Governor, Division 15
Each year, Key Club members alone come together to raise millions of dollars for various projects and
organizations dedicated to helping children all around the world, so that they can have a better future.
In the months of May through August, the main focus is placed on the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). The
Children’s Miracle Network was started to help collect funds to donate to children’s hospitals to help make
treatment options more affordable. To support CMN, please visit the CMN website to find a Children’s Miracle
Hospital in your area.
For example, sell these balloons and put the supporters on display!

As the school year is coming to an end,
here are some fun fundraising ideas!
Kiss A Senior Goodbye
As seniors get ready to leave, let
them know you care by giving them
a sweet kiss...or Hershey kiss. Sell a
Hershey kiss for a $1 with a notecard!
Pie in the Face
As the school year is coming to an end, have former and
new club officers, and advisors be put on the line for a pie
in the face! Sell tickets for a dollar each and allow the
person with the most tickets purchased to choose the first
person to be pied!
A Presidents’ Council Meeting is a meeting
held every month that consists of club
presidents, advisors, and a lieutenant
governor.
The first meeting will strongly be dedicated
to training club presidents to ensure that the
president knows his/her role thoroughly to
ensure that the club stays on a good basis.
The first meeting will most likely be held on
the 31st of May. I will try my best to contact all
club advisors to confirm a date and place for
the meeting. Again, I ask that contact
information for both the club and advisor be
sent as soon as possible in order for us to
have a strong level of communication.
All club officers are invited to attend this
event.
CMN Balloons
Sell Children’s Miracle Network
balloons to help raise funds for
children in need of high priced
treatment options!
