Artificial intelligence and automation are significantly impacting many skilled professions as reliance on technology allows corporations to improve efficiency. While robots and machines are superior in accuracy, human capital is still indispensable for critical thinking and empathy. To prepare for the changing nature of work, corporations and governments must continuously reskill the workforce through comprehensive human capital development that invests twice as much in people as in machines.

• Artificial intelligence and automated machines (robots) are substantially
impacting skilled professions, such as surgery, customer care solutions,
transportation, large scale manufacturing, and accounting among others.
Additionally, reliance on technology has allowed for corporations and firms to
use new technologies in improving capital utilization, overcoming information
barriers, outsourcing, and innovations with fewer errors and increased efficiency
in whatever field of skilled profession they are employed.

• It is for this reason that the global economy is adopting automated machines to do works that
were previously all done by humans as noted above. This does bring with uncertainty for
human labor with talks of machines/robot taking over. As much as Robots and automated
machines are far much superior in terms of accuracy and efficiency as research shows, it is
imperative to point out that, human capital is indispensable in the future of works and as such,
need to be invested in twice as much as the amount of investment going towards automated
machines. It is my belief that the machines cannot perform vital critical thinking tasks and the
ability to employ empathy as humans do. For continuous improvement and a better tomorrow,
corporations and government around the globe need to continuously reskill the human
workforce by investing in comprehensive human capital development.
