THE SITUATION
EFG International had to grow business and develop a new
banking system at the same time and we eventually realized it
would be difficult to achieve in Switzerland where the market for
senior software developers is quite limited and expensive.
We considered outsourcing as a possible solution and looked at
Singapore and Ukraine as potential outsourcing destinations.
However, after we had visited Ciklum office in Kiev and learned

Our initial idea was to complete a software project and apply
changes afterwards.
But Ciklum model made us change our approach and build a
nearshore software team in Ukraine for long-term operations.
Our Kiev team currently serves as the core of our development,
while our Swiss office is the “brain” that creates specifications, user
stories, etc.”
