I am privileged to write this reference letter in order to recommend Ms Alexandra
Maráczi as a candidate for a position offered by your Institute / Organization.
I know Ms Maráczi since 2005, when she was a precocious high school graduate
already. During her graduate studies at the University of Pécs (founded in 1367 as
one of the first universities in Central Europe), for close to five years (2007-2011),
she repeatedly granted me a valuable support in performing and evaluating a
number of studies and surveys (mainly in the field of neurovirology,
neuroepidemiology and sleep research, respectively) and in writing a couple of
scientific papers as well.
During this time I witnessed her tremendous growth and development, which came
not only in the area of biomedical sciences, but in maturity and character as well.
Despite her distinctly feminine look, she spared no effort and pain, working
relentlessly, in order to fulfil her duty and reach her goals. At the same time, she
learned the valuable trait of humility, and enjoyed the opportunity to learn from more
experienced colleagues.
She quickly learned to manage her time and to work in group situations, even under
strict deadlines. Just from the beginning of our collaboration on, the importance of a
strong work ethic, persistence, and intellectual integrity came natural to her. She has
always been persistent and tireless in studying and in research activity as well. Thus,
she has long since become the one of the most valuable members of my student-
helpers’ team.
I am sure Ms Maráczi would be an asset to any employer, thus, I recommend her
with confidence for any endeavour she chooses to pursue.
