1. A CAR PARK?
This September the 62nd edition of LFW, a global highlight on the international
fashion calendar, will move to Brewer Street in Soho. Spanning two floors of the
Brewer Street Car Park, the new venue hosts the world’s most exciting designer
catwalks.
Josef Jammerbund, Head of Events for British Fashion Council said: “The
move to Soho takes us to the epicentre of creativity and style for a citywide
celebration and it feels like home already.”
CELEBRATING CHILDHOOD WONDER
Büsser, 48, founded Swiss watch manufacturer MB&F 10 years ago following a
stint as the MD of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces. Büsser has produced some
of the most creative ‘horological machines’ ever seen; his 10th anniversary
collection is themed, “a creative adult is a child who survived,” inspired by
American author Ursula K. Le Guin.
BRUNCHTIME BLOODY MARY
This Bloody Mary is an ode to the Chicago-style hot dog. And by an “ode”
we mean it includes one for you to eat while you get drunk. Recipe: Take one
Bloody Mary (very very spicy), top with a hot dog, pickle, chilli, tomato and
silverskin onion.

2. READY PLAYER ONE
At the centre of all that gear was the opening DJ, R2-D2, hard at work, using
his various robotic arms to work the turntables. I recognised the tune he was
playing: the ’88 remix of New Order’s “Blue Monday”, with a lot of Star Wars
droid sound samples mixed in. If there was ever a book we wanted to be inside,
this is it. Epic, unforgettable and utterly original, Ready Player One is being
made into a movie for 2017 release by Stephen Spielberg and we can’t wait.
GOOSEBUMPS
There are few things scarier than insane-asylum horror. Director Guy
Shelmerdine’s virtual reality film Catatonic straps you in a wheelchair and takes
you on a five-minute tour of a 1940s mental institution, steering you through
the psych ward and eventually into a chapel where… well we’ll let you find out
your fate for yourself.

HOT DOG OF THE MONTH: JAPADOG, VANCOUVER
The very first JAPADOG opened its ‘doors’ at Burrard and Smithe St,
Vancouver. The Japanese-inspired hot dogs, which include variants
of Japanese-style foods like okonomiyaki, yakisoba, teriyaki and tonkatsu,
became so popular it’s now a sightseeing destination, loved by celebrities
and locals alike.
Joseph Grimaldi, Mask’s resident clown, has been spotted lurking in the
wings at the Theatre Royal Dury Lane, desperate for one last laugh.
