significant experience of LC-MS and aseptic technique. Eager to showcase qualities in a
professional capacity, with a keen interest in microbiology, immunology, and haematology,
developed through university and outside interests.

best of my ability.

seeing the final product of the work is rewarding, one example of this was setting a
wedding room for over 100 guests in under 3 hours with two other staff members late
at night for the following day.
● Working on a formative presentation in the first year, I gained more experience in
teamwork and communication as presenting was an area I was not familiar with. I
thoroughly enjoyed working with my fellow students as a team and our collective
effort was rewarded with a 2:1.

National Shielding Helpline, telephone operative, April 2020 - June 2020
● Outbound calling to vulnerable peoples at higher risk of hospitalization due to the
coronavirus.
● Making sure they have a way to access food, medicine, basic care, and wellbeing
support, whilst respecting the isolation guidelines.
● Gathering patient details to log in to the system.
3. ● I received training on patient confidentiality and data security, this included handling
NHS numbers and sensitive information such as addresses, etc. As well as methods
to ensure that I was definitely speaking to the correct person.
● I developed further communication skills, taking in information from the patient which
I would then relay to the appropriate department (Council, 111, 999).

Interests and Achievements
Ice Hockey
Playing for the Sheffield Bears University ice hockey team. A valued team player, scoring
and assisting in several goals in my first ever season of ice hockey.
General fitness
I enjoy going for runs and improving on run times, as well as working out at the gym.
Reading
Thoroughly enjoy reading a variety of materials, recently finishing the Lord of the Rings
trilogy, through self-improvement reading, books on mindfulness, etc.
Traveling
Keen traveler, traveling to Southeast Asia as well as Japan and South Korea for three
months in 2018. Following this, I then traveled around New Zealand for three months in the
summer of 2019.
Covid-19
During the coronavirus outbreak and particularly the national lockdown, I sort to use my time
productively as well as to try and aid the fight against the virus. In between working for the
shielding helpline and finishing off the final pieces of work for my first year, I decided to pick
up some new skills, learning French and mountain biking. These new hobbies were a
brilliant way to fill my time and kept me fit and my brain active, ready for new challenges.
