Challenge
The City of Vancouver is renowned for its innovative programs in the area of sustainability,
accessibility and inclusivity. In 2009 the City conducted the Burrard Street Lane Closure program
and asked Tidal to provide a web solution to assist the program.
Goals & Objectives
Build fast awareness and acceptance of the Bridge Trial by the public, adopting an integrated social
media campaign that would allow for a two way dialogue between the City and members of the
public.
To communicate disclosures on traffic lane changes (all modes), alternative routes, safety issues,
and projected impacts/delays, and to compel people to access this information online.
Results
The blog was well used by members of the public, receiving 175 individual posts.
42% of all blog visitors returned more than once.
2. The wider campaign was also successful, seeing a 24% increase in cycling volume over pre-trial
volume.
