Gulf Medical Projects (GMP) Company, a listed company in Abu Dhabi Stocks Exchange that has been in
the healthcare industry for more than 30 years, owns Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai. The project cost was
AED 1 Billion and the hospital was accredited by the JCI (Joint Commission) in 2014
Clinical Pharmacist Dec’ 2014 – Present
Reporting to the Chief Pharmacist
Key Duties:
 Responsible for the chemotherapy preparation as the only clinical pharmacist in the
department.
 Interact with physicians regarding patient’s treatment plans recommending the right
medications for the right medical condition of the patients, discussing drug
interaction possibilities.
 Provide patients counseling “patient care”
 Receiving & verifying daily protocols.

 Managing and verifying the handover process of the prepared chemotherapy
medication to the concerned department.
 Participating in the daily ICU rounds with the ICU Team and Dietician to make sure
that the patient is receiving the right medication in the correct form and dosage at
the required time without causing the patient adverse reactions.
 Check the drug-drug and drug food interactions
 Assess the status of the patient’s health problems and determine whether the
prescribed medications are optimally meeting the patient’s needs and goals of care.
 Monitoring patients lab results and vital signs and their effect on medication doses
and frequencies
 Responsible for JCI compliance.
 Responsible for conducting training for new hired pharmacists.
 Conducting regular trainings for the nurses on the implementation of Al Zahra
Hospital Dubai policies during the administration of the high alert medication.
 Reviewing and updating pharmacy policies.
 Responsible for checking and reporting crash cart to ensure the validity of the
medication & to maintain the standardization of the crash cart all over the clinical
departments.
 Responsible for the regular monthly inspection to ensure appropriate storage,
labeling and administration of medication.

Specialty Hospital is a medical center in Amman, Jordan, established 1993 under royal patronage. A 250-
bed multispecialty equipped facility, it was the first hospital to attain the BS OHSAS 18001 certification.
