3. INTRODUCTION
 The domestic or water buffalo belongs to the
genus bubalus,subfamily bovaine ,family
boviade ,is descended from the arni or wild
indian buffalo , and is widely dispersed
throughout the southern asia.
 Buffalo commonly known as “asian animal”.

4. POPULATION
 The world population is 138.75 million is less
than 10% of the total world bovine
population.
 Largest concentration of buffaloes is in asia
and pacific countries is about 133.51 million.

5. LIFESPAN
 If we do a good management of buffaloes
then they lived long upto 15years.buffaloes at
18 and even mire may produce
calves.working buffaloes still in use at well
over 20 years of their age.
