3. Past incident from US-Mexico

have happened in the past.

both sides.
• The phone rang in the hotels in the US side and it was said to
them that the ones who are talking they with are from US
security agency. There are some gangsters in the hotel and
hotel is surrounded by the police.

were asked to switch off their cells as it is sensitive issue of security.

ransom.
5. Recent incidents from Australia
• Now such incidents are happening in Australia. The community which is
suffering is Chinese students.
• A 21 year old Chinese girl studying in Australia received a call few days
back. The person speaking in Mandarin over the call said the girl has some
courier and her personal details were collected.
• When she got the call from him once again, the person said he is an official
from Chinese government official. He said that there is something
suspicious and illegal in the courier.
• She was asked to co-operate with proceedings. Failing to it, she will be
deported back to China and her family would be put in Jail too.
6. • It was asked to frightened girl, to check-in hotel, tie herself with chair,
make video, send it and switch off her phone for few days.
• The girl sent the video which kidnapper sent to her family and asked for
ransom.
• If it is a first case in Australia. Such cases are happening in Australia. The
Chinese people over there have been warned by the federal government
on 14 May, 2020 of such international scam.
• New South Wales police has given information that from Jan 2020 8 such
incidents have been reported. The ransom is ranging from some lacs to
crores.
7. How criminals reach out?
• Most of the apps on the internet asks for our data. Without thinking too
much we often tend to provide our very personal data.
• From this data, criminals often reach to the personal social media accounts
of the people.
• On internet the contacts of embassies and other government departments
is available easily. The criminals with the help of technology makes to
believe people that call is from official department. If people even doubt
and search the contacts on the internet, they get the same contact.

• The people in China are much afraid of the Government over there.
• One of the recent incident from China will make you say that how fool
these people are.
• A girl went on fishing and uploaded the video of same on social media was
arrested. The reason- well she was wearing red scarf while fishing.
• The police said that the colour of the flag of China is Red and it is the
colour of symbol of Chinese Revolution and the girl had disrespected the
flag. She was jailed for 12 days.
