5. MY NARRATOR
My narrator is my grandfather. I have chosen him
because he lived in a village and then he moved to
the city.
He was born in Villanueva de los Escuderos,
Cuenca.
After he finishing his work, he was allowed to go to
the teacher of the village, but at night.
6. When he migrated to Madrid he had to look
for several works.
Firstly he was working in the “Gaseosa’s company”.
Finally and until his retirement he was working in
the buses’s EMT company, as a reviewer of the
tickets.
7. At the moment he is pensioner and he enjoys about
his long experience.
8. BACKGROUND
The rural exodus is related with the migration.
People not only change their place of origin, and also
they change the job.
In the 60’s decade we can find a lot of movements
from villages to cities.
9. Migrations were produced from Castilla La-Mancha,
Castilla y León, Extremadura and Aragón and their
DESTINATIONS were Cataluña, Madrid,
Valencia and Basque Country.
10. They wanted a better life, a better work with a good
salary, covering their basics needs. They wanted to
SURVIVE.
12. CONCLUSION
60’s decade was a difficult time, so people migrated
from village to the city.
I have met and explored about the migration from
villages to cities in the 60’s decade.
Finally with this project I have learnt new things
about the past.
