Teaching Artist Philosophy
Art inspires individuals to think criticallyabout their own
culture and environment.It encourages the thoughtful
expression of an individual’sprinciples and ideas.Furthermore,
the arts provide a unique lens for understanding past and
present cultures.It is the creative impulsethat uniquely
responds to the difficult presentedby an ever-changing world.
Finally,art is the ultimate evaluative force,for it is art’s critical
capacity that allows us to define our own beliefs.
The artsare criticalpart ofthe development of childrenand adults. I have
over 15 years of experiencein the arts. I incorporatebasic art subjectssuch
as the color wheel and the art/musicrelationship.
I teach my studentsto have fun and be creative; while also
teaching themall the different outlets and mediums that they
may have for their creativity.As an artist,and teaching artist,I
am committed to opening young minds to art.
