of individuals from the African Internet community stand as
candidate;
 Have general responsibility for, and shall supervise the conduct
of the polls by the election Committee on election day;
 Call for candidates for elections held by AFRINIC;
 Prescribe criteria and qualifications for eligibility to stand as
candidate for elections held by AFRINIC;
 Interview candidates prior to finalising the list of candidatures;
 Finalise the list of candidates.

 Criteria:
 Be nominated by one (1) AFRINIC member in good standing or be
formally endorsed by at least two (2) AFRINIC members in good
standing in case of self-nomination
 Have participated in at least two (2) AFRINIC events (physically or
online) in the past three (3) years
 Have at least five (5) years professional experience in an area
relevant to AFRINIC activities, such as Internet Resource
Management, ICT, policy development, finance, audit and HR
management
 Not be an employee or member of a decision-making body (such as a
Board) of an organisation which may create any conflict of interest;
 Be available and committed to participate in Board meetings and other
AFRINIC activities (face-to-face and online).
