TIME FOR CHANGE
I’m here to do a job, and do it to the best of my ability.
I’ve been selected by the local Scottish Liberal Democrats
to fight for the Midlothian South, Tweeddale &
Lauderdale seat in the Holyrood 2021elections.
I intend to represent you the only way I know how - by
working tirelessly with a keen eye on the future to ensure
that right here there is investment and improvement in
education, employment opportunities and business
growth.
I will stand up for better funded healthcare and demand
that money is directed towards care homes, mental
health and wellbeing services to bring these up to the
standards we all deserve.
It takes a strong economy to do this, and the Scottish
Liberal Democrats have the policies to drive the economy
forward to achieve it. A vote for me is a vote of
confidence, a vote for a more secure future for you and
your families.

in May 2021, and I will bring back that success
by listening to local concerns and voicing these

word of the First Minister.

firmly oppose another
referendum
Liberal Democrats in the Scottish
Parliament are working to win support
for our hard working NHS staff and
social care workers.
We have set out a 5 point package of
support we want to see delivered:
1 Personal protection
kits now
Holyrood needs to guarantee the supply
chain for Personal Protective Equipment
for our hospitals and social care workers.
2 Mental health support
for frontline staff
We’re calling for a new, dedicated staff
mental health and trauma helpline for
frontline workers, which gets them straight
to a trauma-trained counsellor
3 Frontline service
reward payment
Pay levels in the care sector have long
undervalued their contribution. It’s time we
recognise the efforts of these workers in
financial terms.
4 Bereavement and
financial support
The NHS has a “death in service” scheme
– but many workers on the frontline aren’t
eligible. This should be extended to cover
all key workers who die in the line of duty,
trying to protect others.
5 A Coronavirus
Service Medal
We must not forget the effort and sacrifice
of key workers on the coronavirus
frontline. We’re calling for recognition for
the risks they have faced, with a new
“Coronavirus Service Medal”.
Key workers are playing a major role to
keep our country safe and should be
properly and formally recognised.

not another referendum.
Our focus is on development across South
Scotland, that takes time, thought,

Our communities need time to heal from

nationalists priority is another divisive
referendum - this is no way to run a
country.’
