processed more than 452,000 of her study permit
applications between January 2022 and August. That's a 23%
increase compared to her 367,000 cases processed in the

Canada research.

7.  IRCC offers a popular Post Graduation Work Permit
(PGWP). The PGWP allows eligible international
students to obtain an open work permit with a validity
period corresponding to the duration of their educational
program in Canada. An Open Work Permit allows
foreigners to work for any employer of their choice in
Canada. A PGWP has a maximum validity period of three
years. PGWP holders gain the professional work
experience in Canada often required to qualify for
economic immigration programs. The most prominent
immigration route offered by the IRCC falls under the
Express Entry system, and PGWP holders typically seek
permanent residency through the Canada Experience
Class (CEC) program.

8.  Canadian provinces and territories also give
international graduates domestic work experience. A
nationwide stream of Quebec and Provincial Nominee
Programs (PNPs) offer avenues of permanent residency
as a means of encouraging foreign graduates to remain in
their province or territory and continue to contribute to
the labor market as immigrants.
 Canada has seen international students as a major source
of permanent residents in recent years, especially during
the pandemic. For example, the IRCC relies heavily on
international graduates to meet its goal of welcoming
over 405,000 new immigrants in 2021, breaking
Canada's record for recent immigrants in one year. rice
