3. RADIO
• Radio is the technology of signaling
and communicating using radio waves.
• Radio waves are electromagnetic waves of frequency between
30 hertz (Hz) and 300 gigahertz (GHz). They are generated by an
electronic device called a transmitter connected to
an antenna which radiates the waves, and received by another
antenna connected to a radio receiver.
• Radio is very widely used in modern technology, in radio
communication, radar, radio navigation, remote control, remote
sensing, and other applications.
6. INTERNET RADIO
• Internet radio (also web radio, net radio, streaming
radio, e-radio, IP radio, online radio) is a digital
audio service transmitted via the Internet.
• Broadcasting on the Internet is usually referred to
as webcasting since it is not transmitted broadly
through wireless means. It can either be used as a
stand-alone device running through the internet, or
as a software running through a single computer.
8. PODCAST
• A podcast is an episodic series of spoken-
word digital audio files that a user
can download to a personal device for easy
listening. Streaming applications and podcasting
services provide a convenient and integrated way
to manage a personal consumption queue across
many podcast sources and playback devices.
10. TELEVISION (T.V.)
• Television, sometimes shortened to TV or telly, is
a telecommunication medium used
for transmitting moving images in monochrome (bla
ck and white), or in color, and in two or three
dimensions and sound. The term can refer to
a television set, a television show, or the medium
of television transmission.
• Television is a mass
medium for advertising, entertainment, news,
and sports.
12. CLOSE CIRCUIT TELEVISION
(CCTV)
• CCTV stands for closed-circuit television and is commonly
known as video surveillance.
• “Closed-circuit” means broadcasts are usually transmitted to a
limited (closed) number of monitors, unlike “regular” TV, which
is broadcast to the public at large.
• CCTV networks are commonly used to detect and deter
criminal activities, and record traffic infractions, but they have
other uses.
14. INTERNET PROTOCOL TELEVISION
(IPTV)
• IPTV refers to Internet-based Protocol
Television where internet is used to deliver TV
programs & Videos that are either live or on
demand.
• IPTV is a system where digital television
service is delivered to the subscriber through
Internet protocol technology via the medium of
broadband or internet connection.
