CGS Facility Fellow
A Carroll University Fellow is expected to be a leader through both word and example. The Fellow should
be a model of professionalism, for they are ultimately responsible for the other staff members, as well as
the facility itself and the people who use it. Through management and teamwork, it is the Fellow’s job to
make sure all facility operations are conducted smoothly. Carroll University Fellows are responsible for all
buildings, equipment, facilities and student worker supervision associated with the College of Natural
Sciences, Health Sciences and Business.
All Carroll University Fellows report to the Assistant to the Dean of the College of Natural Sciences,
Health Sciences and Business.
All Fellow duties include, but are not limited to:
• Administrative:
o Act as liaison between faculty, staff, and supervisors.
o Enforcing all rules and regulations.
o Organizing and administering projects and meetings.
o Organizing, inventorying office supplies and informing appropriate personnel.
o Ensure hourly tallies are taken of room usage
o Certified to drive Carroll University Vans
o Assist professors with select projects per a program, department or course
o Update LMS site for work information, schedule, announcements, absences
• Staffing
o Opening and closing procedures for the building
o Staffing the CNSHSB faclilities in the evenings and on weekends
o Creating and managing the supervisor work schedule
o Training supervisors and other Fellows
o Verifying the timely arrival of all workers for their scheduled shift.
o Verify accurate completion of timesheets and appropriate monthly collection
o Ensuring proper completion of timesheets and managing timesheet collection
o Observing and directing the performance of student workers to attain prescribed
standards of conduct.
o Evaluating supervisor performance
• Facility
o Documenting activities in the facility evaluation report and filling out other necessary
documents (work orders, accident reports, violation forms, etc.).
o Ensure the completion of the hourly tasks to maintain facility
o Inspecting the facility for hazardous conditions, reporting required maintenance and
custodial needs.
o Ensure facilities are clean and safe.
o Communicating with facility patrons and campus personnel and administer their
reasonable requests.
o Responding to emergency situations that affect the facility or those within the facility.
o Securing all rooms that are not in use and allowing access to secured rooms for
authorized personnel.
o Attending the weekly Fellows meeting.
In addition to these duties, the Facility Fellow must be flexible in order to accept new tasks and implement
changes in policies as the CNSHSB Faculty and Staff presents them. Communication between the Fellow,
the CNSHSB Faculty and Staff, other fellows and student workers is vital in maintaining the upkeep of our
facilities.
