2. ABOUT MASCO
Masco is one of the eminent ready-made garments industries amongst the largest ready-made
garments exporters in Bangladesh that commenced its official operation in the fall of 2001. It
comprises of a vertical set up knit composite factory with having all in-house facilities starting
up from knitting, dyeing, sewing, placement printing, embroidery and laundry.
However, Masco has well been equipped with all sort of modern machineries with a view to
ensuring the best convincing and satisfactory support in suiting the taste of the
customers.
Moreover, Masco believes in the strategy that development is never ending process.
Therefore special care is taken to improve the every step and all the innovative ideas for
customers and welfare of the employees are extolled. Masco fosters a belief of long term
relationship ethics with the valued customers and considers them as commercially viable
business partners.

CHRONOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT
June 2001: Garments Unit G1 started with 3 sewing lines, now running 10 lines.
March 2003: Masco Knitting & Dyeing facility started with production capacity 4 tons/day
production capacity, which is now increased to 16 tons/day
April 2006: Garments Unit G2 started with 5 sewing lines, now running 20 lines
November 2006: Masco Printing with started with 2 tables & Embroidery with 2 machines, now
Printing table increased to 97 and embroidery machines increased to 12.
July 2009: Tasniah Fabrics Ltd started with 10 sewing lines.
September 2009: MascoTex Ltd started with 6 sewing lines and now running 26 lines.
November 2010: Masco Center started as corporate office.
May 2010: Concept Knitting Ltd started with composite knit garments of 10 sewing line
& 4 tons fabric production capacity, which has increased to 14 lines and 12 tons of
fabrics capacity table.
December 2011: Masco Cottons started with 8 sewing lines which is increased to 26 lines.
October 2012: Shanta Expression started with 6 lines which will be increased to 32 line by July 2013.

Masco started implementing DHU (Defect Per hundred units) with proactive IE team to
ensure proper root cause analysis.
Masco has been following TQM (Total Quality Management) to improve quality level
coordinating with all departments along with Independent quality department.
At 2012 its Internal 1st
time inspection Pass rate was 98.2%. Masco works to achieve
full confidence of customers as a true business associate.

ETP: Masco is committed not only to protect the environment from the untoward change and
environmental threats but also to save the human of the world to keep the ecological balance
and to avert the green beautiful world from greenhouse effect. Therefore, waste water is
thrown through our operational Effluent Treatment Plants to save the environment and to keep
the environment pollution free. Our ETPs are continuously operational and the test reports of
ETP discharge meet the legal standards as Masco has solid waste management facilities.
Rain Water: We collect rain water in the monsoon to use at dyeing
Power Saving: Masco is aware of low carbon emission and less power consuming for machines,
selection of Inverter control system and selection of eco-friendly dyes.
Sun Light: Masco Group uses transparent sheet on building shades to produce the energy of
sun light as part of energy efficiency.
Health Care: Masco can stand here with confidence because of employing full time doctors and
nurses for every individual unit to take care of employee’s health so that no employee can face the
worst health crisis since the Great Depression at the time of working. Even though, Masco has made
collaboration with Dhaka International Hospital to ensure the best treatment and free medical service
apart from in house medical facilities with full time doctors and nurses. Moreover, Masco arranges
Vaccination Program at every individual unit.
Safety: Masco believes that safe, secured & sound working place refresh the bodies and minds of the
workers to keep continuing not only their minds but also their surroundings clean and healthy.
Therefore, Masco assigned a strong and energetic team to take care safety issues like as fire, accidental,
environmental, machine, electrical, chemical and many more.

Performance Award: In every month all the best performers are given the awards away.
Training: Various types of trainings are conducted aiming at making the skilled and
multifunctional workers in the all-inclusive production units of Masco.
Annual Get Together: Masco arranges annual cultural program for all the employees with a
view to enjoying together at the beginning of every year. In every year Milon Mela or the
annual get together ceremony is arranged to refresh the workers and the staffs to avoid the
monotonous life.
Workers and Management Relationship: Misunderstanding, misinterpretation and deprivation
of rights are the main causes of grievance. Masco always aims at prioritizing to set out any
grievance with ease of satisfaction for the well-being of the company and the employees.
Games and Sports: The annual sports competition like football, badminton, cricket and other
games are organized for workers and staffs to participate on.
