Inauguration event of online teaching of Food Engineering was wonderful and meaningful for us
- thoughtfully planned and rich in reflection and celebration. One important piece of business
remains: my sincere expression of gratitude to the entire UPM professors teaching team for
participating in the inaugural session and bringing unquenchable spirit to them in abundance.
It was moving to share this special experience with you and to see you online welcome so many
syndicate members, Deans, Directors and students as participants of the extended University of
Agriculture, Faisalabad. Everyone appreciated your keen interest of participation and making the
event successful.
Inaugurations are honored traditions at universities, but there is also a sense of relief that comes
with having one behind us. The work of the university lies ahead. The lives and teachings of
UPM teachers provide examples to us. The "calls to service" delivered during winter semester,
2013 by Dr. Yus Aniza, Dr. Chin, and Dr. Khairul Faeza, faith and higher education
communities’ further guide our efforts.
I also encourage your joining UAF through video conferencing in renewing our commitment to
online teaching BSc Food Engineering classes for serving Pakistan by making a personal pledge
of service at UAF on October 11, 2013, "Depth of Thought, Depth of Imagination" that will
explore themes from Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan on
responding to the challenges to quality education.
Thank you again for participating in inauguration ceremony through video conferencing that
reflected the strength of ties binding us as two universities into one university.
