2. EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
I am a BA holder in Management and Public Administration from Addis Ababa University and an
MBA holder from the University of Birmingham (UK). Before I joined the university, I served as
an Agricultural Extension Agent in rural Ethiopia for three years. After obtaining my BA degree, I
joined the Commission for Higher Education of Ethiopia and served as a planning expert in the
higher education sector. Then after I spent 2 years in the UK for my post-graduate diploma in
Business Administration and for my MBA. After obtaining my MBA, I joined the Ministry of
Education and served in different capacities including being expert in projects management
involving World Bank Financed Higher Education Projects (mainly IDA projects). Then I was
promoted to the position of department head of Organization and Training for the Federal
Ministry of Education. In all those periods (after obtaining my MBA), I was also a part-time
lecturer in Addis Ababa University in the faculty of business and economics, Department of
Management and Lectured various courses for 10 years. In December 1994, I resigned from the
Ministry of Education and joined Siemens Ethiopia and Served as a Marketing Manager. Then
after, I resigned from Siemens and joined various business organization and served in different
capacities till 2003. From 2003 till now, I established my own consultancy firm in management
and have provided consultancy services to various public and private organizations. Testimonies
