Objectives:
• Students must be able to count sequentially within 1000
• Students must demonstrate math vocabulary competence in the following
words – backward, forward, skip-count, hundred, thousand, estimate,
increase, decrease, ascending, descending, sequence, notation, verify, value,
amount, money, currency, equal, equivalent, rounding.

• Estimate (estimar) – to calculate (cuantificar)
something
• Example (ejemplo): 2 + 3 = 5
9. Counting Words
• Sequence (secuencia) – ordered set of numbers,
shapes, or other objects, using a rule.
• Example (ejemplo): Review skip-counting (revisión
cuenta de saltos)
10. Activity
• Let’s play a game of skip-counting
• Rules: students place themselves into groups in order of 2s and 5s in that
order then repeat to form a sequence or pattern.
