Editor's Notes
This is just a quick overview of the organisation I represent, the members of the Climate and Health Alliance, which was formed in August 2010. Members include the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Public Health Association of Australia, the Australian Psychological Society, the Australian Women’s Health Network, the Australian Nursing Federation, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Australian Association of Social Workers, and the Australian Hospitals and Healthcare Association to name a few.
So any healthcare setting can join the Network – if they commit to at least two of the ten goals. They commit to annually reporting their progress and they have access to tools and resources for implementation of the Agenda in their institution or setting. There is an opportunity to post case studies to the virtual network, participate in an online forum and an awards program.
The virtual community that is currently being developed promises to be an extremely exciting and innovative online space with a social media platform that looks like it will be Facebook, Google docs and Gotomeeting combined!
This will offer real time information sharing and collaboration in a format that will be extremely user friendly and provide a great support and a rich resource for those implementing sustainability initiatives as part of the GGHH Network.
