ATLAS will design a multi-sensor box that can be coupled to farm vehicles to measure soil moisture, chlorophyll content, and plant drought stress using spectral cameras. This sensor data and a "digital twin" field model can be combined to estimate crop yield volumes.
1. ATLAS will design, implement and test a sensor system that
can be coupled to tractors and narrow-tracked vehicles. The
multi-sensor box is designed to be compatible to different
spectral cameras that will provide indices with information to
farmers about soil moisture, chlorophyll content and drought
stress of the plant. The information of the spectral indices and
this “digital twin” of the field or plantation can be merged and
thus calculate a volumetric estimate of the yield.
