age grouppreferredthe genre more.Everyonewhoansweredmy questionnaire wasinbetweenthe
age of 16-24. The fact that everyone answeringthe questionnaire belongedtoone age groupisa
negative factorasthisdid notallowme to see the viewsof people belongingtodifferentage groups.
NextIaskedpeople takingthe questionnaire whethertheylistenedtothe genre,contemporary
R&B, or not. The majorityof the people Iasked(9 outof 11 people) saidthattheylistentothe
genre,whichishelpfulastheyare likely tohave increasedknowledge onthe genre andtheirreplies
to otherquestionsmaybe helpfultodecide onthe featuresof the magazine. Also,thisquestionwas
askedto establishwhetherthe targetaudience wasactuallyinterestedinthe genre.Fromthe results
I realisedthatmanypeople of the age 16-24 are keenonthe genre.Thissuggeststhatmygenre is
relevantamongstthe age groupand therefore itwouldbe agoodgenre to choose.
AnotherquestionIaskedinmyaudience researchquestionnaire waswhichcolourscheme they
preferred. The optionsconsistedof the coloursblackandwhite ormaroonand white orpurple,
blackand white andthe last optionof grey,purple andwhite.Ialsoincludedanoptionforotherto
take intoaccount variousopinions.Iaskedthisquestiontosee what anaudience thoughtwouldbe
appropriate coloursfora musicmagazine.Fromthisquestion,the mostpopularcolourscheme was
purple,blackandwhite.Thisquestionfeedbackwaspositive asthiswasmyoriginal choice forthe
magazinescolour.

optionsincludinginterviewswithartists,reviewsonmusic,informationontoursandgigs,posters
and other.The purpose of thisquestionwastosee whatmy target audience enjoyedtosee ina
musicmagazine andto knowwhatappealedtothemmost.Three of the 5 optionstiedwith20%,
while interviewsledwith40%.The problemwiththisquestionwasthatmanyof the people
answeringthe questionnaire chose several/all options;therefore the questiondoesnotgive a
specificinsightasto whatpeople wanttosee more of ina magazine.
Overall,fromthisaudience researchquestionnaireIhave learntmuchaboutthe preferencesof my
target audience.Itshowsme what theyexpectfromamagazine of thisgenre andwhat theywould
like more of.SoI am goingto continue tostickwithmy genre R&B and mytarget audience willalso
remainthe same (16-24 yearolds).Ihave decidedthatmy articleswill consistof mostlyinterviews
but witha fairamountof othercontentsuchas posters,reviewsandinformationongigsandtours
etc.I am goingtostick withmypersonal andaudience favouritecolourscheme of purple,blackand
white.
