2. Music Research
Here is the list of songs that we may or may not use in our OTS. The ones which are in bold were the ones that are in the final draft. The ones that aren’t marked with
a star were used at some point in the production of early drafts and were removed either because we found better songs or they didn’t fit the new ideas. (Link in

3. Sound Research
• To signify to the audience that the main character is panicking from the
hallucinations, we added a heart beat effect when he closes his eyes
outside. This was to connote that he’s scared. The audience can tell this by
the pace of his heartbeat. The heart beat will slow down when he feels
assured that the hallucinations have stopped and will then get faster when
he hears whispers behind him.
4. Foley sound research
• We needed to create a foley for the bathroom scene when the main
character pulls out his tooth in an aggressive manner which turns out to be
a hallucination. We made foleys from coke cans, twigs and decided to use
the sound of a coke bottle opening as it was the most realistic and
convincing. We used Audacity on the laptop and Recording Lite app on the
iPhone to record the sounds.
5. Sound Research
• Every time the hallucination appeared, he
would be accompanied with one or two
sound effects which would be used
individually and at the same time. The Bass
Drum effect would be heard when the
hallucination is in shot and the whispers
are used when the hallucinations become
more aggressive. (Links in Blog.)
• The sound effects emphasise that the
person seen following the main character
is dangerous from the bass drum effect and
not human from the whispers being heard
around him.
