API First
It is an approach that assumes the design
and documentation of an API comes
BEFORE its implementation.

8. API First - Why should I use it?
With this approach, stakeholders are consulted
with the intention of collaboratively designing,
mocking, and documenting an API before the
application or other channels that will use it are
developed.

Editor's Notes
To organize, I like to break it down into 5 fundamental steps involving the apis in an open finance journey.
The first, to unlocking the legacy, is to be able to resolve the visions inherent in old, monolithic and poorly scalable systems. APIs can provide the first step in a shift in architecture focus. It's about what issues the architecture should focus on.
The second is about deciding how the architecture should solve the problem. There is a lot of talk about composable arquitecture and we believe that this vision is really powerful to transform architecture into a supplier of business blocks.
The third is about positioning as a platform. More than a business fight, it's a platform fight.
The number four, is more fundamental basics: Take care of your ecosystem!
Finally, it is essential to reinforce the need for an alignment between API strategy and business strategy and the relevance of using playbooks to scale and organize the API journey (or marathon).
