Executive Summary
Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) is a private university located in
Puebla, Mexico. UPAEP and Oklahoma State University (OSU) have developed a strong
relationship since 1992 when they signed their first collaboration agreement.
UPAEP and OSU have worked actively in a variety of academic programs for the past thirteen
years. In 2004, UPAEP opened a permanent office in the United States with the objective to
strengthen the partnership between UPAEP and OSU and with other U.S. and Mexican Institutions
with the purpose to increase the internationalization of the UPAEP community and its partners.
This report includes the activities and achievements made since 2015 when Alejandro Aizpuru
Kurezyn, was appointed Director of the UPAEP United States of America Liaison Office.
UPAEP Liaison office has collaborated in the design and delivery of a variety of academic
programs for students, faculty, and staff members. Some examples of these efforts are:
 Academic visits.
 Faculty Led Programs.
 Faculty members exchange.
 Exchange of International Students
 Dual Degree Programs.
 Bridge Program.
 Lectures and talks by videoconference.
 Agenda for visiting authorities from UPAEP and OSU.
Nowadays, there are 58 different options of graduate dual degree programs between UPAEP and
OSU and as a result, 112 students from UPAEP have participated in these programs as of 2007.
Since 2015, UPAEP office has collaborated in the mobility of 141 people from UPAEP and OSU:
 40 dual degree students from UPAEP (35% of the total just in 2 years)
 4 bridge program students from UPAEP.
 4 exchange students from UPAEP.
 2 ELI students from UPAEP.
 12 students from agriculture and veterinary from UPAEP (Academic visit).
 15 students from the UPAEP High School System. ( OSU Summer Academy)
 16 UPAEP members have visited OSU.
 20 OSU members have visited UPAEP.
 28 students from OSU have visited UPAEP (Academic visit).

Note: The following achievements have been made thanks to the collaboration of many people
from UPAEP and OSU, and other institutions who have contributed in different ways.
1.- Strengthening the relationship between UPAEP and the College
of Education from OSU:

As result of the signature of this agreement, on fall 2017, the College of
Education, Health and Aviation welcomed Maribel Castañeda Muñoz, the
first candidate in the Dual Ph.D. Program in Educational Leadership and
Policy Studies.
2 - Strengthening the relationship between UPAEP and the
Department of Agricultural Education at OSU:

As part of this work, Dr. Terry visited UPAEP on April 24th and 25th. He met with a candidate
for the dual Ph. D. degree, with Martha Cabanas Villa, Graduate Dual Degree Coordinator,
and with other UPAEP authorities to follow up the agreements that UPAEP has signed with
his department and figure out new ways of collaboration.
As result of the signature of this agreement, on fall 2017, the School of Agricultural Education,
welcomed Luis Flores Porras, the first candidate in the Dual Ph.D. Program in Agricultural
Education.
3 – Collaboration with The UPAEP High School System to find new
options of internationalization in benefit of their community. (April,
13-16, 2016).
Visit of Carlos Águila to Stillwater, General Director of the UPAEP High School System, and
Etienne Herrera, International Affairs High School Coordinator. During this visit some
meetings were held with the College of Education at OSU and also with Mr. Uwe Gordon,
Principal of the Stillwater High School.

As a result of this visit, Dr. Jenn Sanders, Head of the OSU College of Education's School of
Teaching and Curriculum Leadership and Dr. Sheri Vasinda were hired by UPAEP to conduct
a program evaluation of the UPAEP Prepa- Angelopolis, to assesses the strengths and needs
of the other UPAEP schools in terms of English instruction, and make recommendations to
implement a bilingual school model system-wide. (September 2016).
Also, in a second visit to UPAEP in January 2017, Dr. Sanders and Deedee Mullanax, OSU
Ph.D. student and professor of the Stillwater High School, taught the workshops titled:
"Unfolding the Standards" and "Teaching Science in English".

Nowadays, Dr. Sanders is collaborating in the review of the new curriculum of the UPAEP
High School system, among other projects.
4.- Increase the exchange of knowledge both face-to-face and virtual
for the benefit of our university communities (conferences, talks,
workshops, research, etc.)
• Arrangements for the Dr. Bridget Miller' sabbatical semester in UPAEP during the fall
2016. She was involved in some research projects, teaching and liaison with the College
of Health Sciences and the Master in Public Health (She spent 3 months in Puebla).
4.
 On April 28, 2016, Dr. Pedram Khosronejad, who is currently the Associate Director for
Iran and Persian Gulf Studies at OSU, taught the videoconference titled "Iran Today". This
lecture was conducted from the United States only for the UPAEP students. The main
benefited of this international lecture were 43 students and professors from the programs
of international trade and international relations.
 Also, on July 11th and 13th of 2017, Dr. Khosronejad gave talks to international trade
students from UPAEP.

 On January 11th, 2017, Dr. Ken Eastman, Dean of the Spears School of Business, gave a
lecture to the UPAEP community in Puebla.
On February 9th, 2017 (8 am-13 pm) Took place the event titled:
“A World of Opportunities: The Successful Relationship between UPAEP and Oklahoma
State University”
The talks were:
 Dr. Henneberry and Janet Herren. An overview of UPAEP-OSU relationship /
Opportunities for trade.
 Rodrigo Tello, Dual Degree former student / Director of International Programs. Lecture:
“My journey at Oklahoma State University”
 Dra. Shida Henneberry, Lecture: International Trade Matters: The Case of US and Mexico
Relations
 Dr. Stephen Wanger – Lecture: “The Role of Higher Education in Emerging Global
Realities”
 Dr. Seltzinger, College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology,
Lecture: “Architecture and Place”.

Chocolate workshop for students of the School of Gastronomy at UPAEP, given by Chef Gene
Leiterman, Dean of the School of Culinary Arts at OSUIT. This workshop was organized for the
Chef Monica Orduña, Director of the School of Gastronomy at UPAEP, as part of the OSU Access
Week. (February 2017)
Talk of engineering students from UPAEP with Leo Van Delf, Dean of the School of Automotive
Technologies at OSUIT. Dr. Eduardo Lebano and Dr. Hugo Ferrer organized this event for the
students as part of the OSU Access Week.

On summer 2017, UPAEP invited some OSU faculty to collaborate in different projects.
The College of Engineering of UPAEP invited Dr. Glenn Brown to
collaborate for a month in different academic activities, among them, to
collaborate in the courses of "Flow of Fluids", "Practices of Unit Operation
I and II", besides gave several lectures from his area of expertise.
The School of Hospitality Administration invited Dr. Taryn Price to
collaborate for 3 weeks in July to teach the course "Entertainment and
Recreation Organizations". In addition to this, Dr. Price gave a series of
lectures concerning the study of leisure in work and sports.
The Direction of the Master's Program in Educational Technology, invited
Dr. Asino Tutaleni expert in educational technology to collaborate for 3
weeks in UPAEP in different academic projects.
The visits of these OSU professors benefited directly to hundreds of students,
teachers and members of our community, and also this visit help to advertise
OSU to recruit future students.

5– Strength the collaboration with the School of Hospitality
Administration at OSU and with the School of Culinary Arts of the
Institute of Technology at OSU.
Visit of Alicia Yañez and Monica Orduña. (November 7-10, 2016). During the visit of the
Directors of the School of Hospitality Management and the School of Gastronomy at UPAEP,
several meetings were held with Dr. Frank Tsai, Assistant Director, International Programs of
the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration, which ranked eighth among the top 100
hospitality and tourism programs in the world, and with Chef Gene Leiterman, Dean of the
School of Culinary Arts of the OSU Institute of Technology, in Okmulgee. During the
meetings, we talked about different topics such as exchange programs, short bilateral term
programs, bridge program, dual degrees, among many other topics. Also, as a result of this
visit Chef Leiterman, visited UPAEP last February 2017 to figure out more ways of
collaboration.
As a result of this visit, during the Homecoming week (From October 12-20), a group of
students from the School of Gastronomy will visit OSU.

6– Strength the collaboration with the College of Engineering,
Architecture and Technology at OSU.
Visit of Eugenio Urrutia, Undergraduate Academic Vice-president at UPAEP, Hugo Ferrer,
Dean of the College of Engineering at UPAEP and José Hernández, Former NASA Astronaut
and UPAEP collaborator. Oct, 22th to 26th, 2016.
As part of this visit, Jose Hernandez gave an inspiring and successful lecture addressed to OSU
students and employees and to the general community of Stillwater, Oklahoma. This lecture was
attended by 250 people.

As result of this meeting, Dr. Daniel Fisher, Head of Department of the School of Mechanical and
Aerospace Engineering visited UPAEP the past January 2017 with a group of students (More
information in the following section). Also, Dr. Randy Seitsinger, Associate Dean of Academic
Affairs, CEAT, visited UPAEP in February during the Access Week and he gave a lecture to our
community.

Visit to the OSU Institute of Technology (OSUIT) in Okmulgee.
The Institute of Technology was visited in order to find new ways of collaborating with them. The
first step will be to develop short term programs in both directions. UPAEP students could practice
in the OSUIT labs and the students of the Institute of Technology could visit UPAEP and extra to
taking some seminars they could benefit from the UPAEP relationship with the business sector in
the State of Puebla, among many other things.
As a result of this visit, two Deans visited UPAEP during the Access Week 2017.

7– Increase the number of Students from OSU in UPAEP.
Visit of Octavio Gonzalez to OSU (Short Term & Tailor Made Program Coordinator at
UPAEP). September 19-23, 2016
During this visit, many meeting where held in order to promote our programs in many areas of
OSU.
We met with:
 Aaron Roggia, Assistant Professor of Spanish (Foreign Languages & Literatures)
 Cindy Cario and Vallory Vencill from the College of Education,
 Dr. Frank Tsay , Assistant Director of International Programs, School of Hotel &
Restaurant Administration
 Janet Herren and Rodrick Chapman from the School of International Studies,
 Shane Michael Omealey, Program coordinator Art & Sciences Outreach,
 Dr. Ramesh Sharda, Vice Dean of Watson Graduate School of Management,
 Dr. Jose Sgarnaga, Director, Center for Advanced Global Leadership and Engagement
(CAGLE),
 Jeff Simpson and Marissa Hernandez , Study Abroad Office,
 Sandy Pogue and Vina (OHCE INC.) ,
 Kern Kenneth from the OSU Institute of Technology, and so forth.
Some results of this and of previous meetings:
Dr. Jose Sagarnaga, Director, Center for Advanced Global Leadership and Engagement (CAGLE),
organized in cooperation with UPAEP two international programs. The first one during the spring
of 2016 for a group of students of Marketing and the second in January 2017 with a group of
students of the Spears School of Business.

Also, in January 2017, as a result of the meeting with the College of Engineering during the visit
of Eugenio Urrutia and Hugo Ferrer, Dr. Daniel Fisher visited UPAEP with 4 students from the
School of Mechanic and Aerospace Engineering at OSU. This program was organized between
the CAGLE at OSU, The Coordination of Short Term & Tailor made Programs at UPAEP and the
College of Engineering at UPAEP were Dr. Hugo Ferrer, Dr. Eduardo Lebano and other professors
organized all the academic activities for these group.

8– Increase the number of students from UPAEP in OSU enrolled in
different options of international programs like Graduate Dual
Degrees, Bridge Program, Faculty Led Programs and High School
Summer Academy.
In collaboration with Martha Cabanas Villa, Graduate
Dual Degree Coordinator at UPAEP, we signed 7 new
options for master programs and 3 new options for
doctorate programs.
Nowadays, 23 Master programs of UPAEP have 55
different options in OSU, and 3 doctorate programs at
UPAEP have 2 options in OSU.
At the moment, 112 students from UPAEP have
participated in a dual degree program with OSU. Since
2015, the UPAEP office has received in campus 40 dual
degree students, 4 in the bridge program, 4 exchange
students and 2 students for the English Language
Institute, also we have enrolled the first students doing a
dual degree at a distance.

On July 2016, 10 students of the UPAEP High School participate in the 2016 Summer Academy,
organized by Rodrigo Tello, Director of International Programs at OSU. It is worth mentioning
that since 2012, the UPAEP High School System has participated in this program, adding almost
100 graduates.

Also, in collaboration with Professor Jose Juan Zamorano, during March 2016, OSU hosted 12
students from the School of Agricultural Engineering and the School of Veterinary form UPAEP.

9- Strengthening the relationship between the Business School of
UPAEP and OSU.
On September 2015, Dr. Felipe Burgos, Dean of the Business School of UPAEP and the Laura
Nieto, Coordinator of the Bridge Program at UPAEP visited OSU.
During this visit, important meetings were held with authorities from the Spears School of
Business. Because of this visit subsequent meetings where carried out with the Graduate College,
OSU Migration Area and other areas involved.
Currently Carlo Schiavon Ceja, student form the Bachelor in Business Intelligence at UPAEP is
studying the MBA at OSU.
October 2016. During the visit of Eugenio Urrutia, a meeting was held with Dr. Eastman to
further strengthen the relationship between business schools.

In January 2017, Dr. Eastman and Dr. Sagarnaga visited UPAEP where they met with the Emilio
Baños, President of the UPAEP University, Pablo Nuño, General Director of Internationalization
and Felipe Burgos, Dean of the Business School.
The objective of the meetings was to advance in different projects of collaboration between both
institutions.
In May 2017, Soraya Reyes Guerrero, Academic Director of UPAEP's International Trade and
Business Logistics programs, visited OSU to meet with James R. Knecht, Director of OSU's
Assessment & Testing Center, with Dr. Carol Johnson who is an expert on accreditation and
evaluation and collaborates in the Business School of OSU, the objective of this meeting was to
know how OSU operates the "learning outcomes".
In addition to these meetings, Soraya Reyes met with Dr. David Henneberry, Vice President of the
Division of International Studies and Outreach, Anthony Cambas, Director of OSU International
Trade and Development Center and President of Partners of the Americas, Oklahoma Chapter,
Ken Eastman, Dean of the Spears School of Business and José Sagarnaga, Director of the Center
for Global Leadership and Commitment (CAGLE), to find new ways of collaboration.
As result of this visit, a group of students form International Trade from UPAEP, will visit OSU
from October 12th to 20th to participate in a seminar " Doing Business in United States: Customs
and International Logistics"

From September 2015 to date, 20 OSU members have visited UPAEP to collaborate on different
projects.

  • 3. United States of America Liaison Office 2 Executive Summary Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) is a private university located in Puebla, Mexico. UPAEP and Oklahoma State University (OSU) have developed a strong relationship since 1992 when they signed their first collaboration agreement. UPAEP and OSU have worked actively in a variety of academic programs for the past thirteen years. In 2004, UPAEP opened a permanent office in the United States with the objective to strengthen the partnership between UPAEP and OSU and with other U.S. and Mexican Institutions with the purpose to increase the internationalization of the UPAEP community and its partners. This report includes the activities and achievements made since 2015 when Alejandro Aizpuru Kurezyn, was appointed Director of the UPAEP United States of America Liaison Office. UPAEP Liaison office has collaborated in the design and delivery of a variety of academic programs for students, faculty, and staff members. Some examples of these efforts are:  Academic visits.  Faculty Led Programs.  Faculty members exchange.  Exchange of International Students  Dual Degree Programs.  Bridge Program.  Lectures and talks by videoconference.  Agenda for visiting authorities from UPAEP and OSU. Nowadays, there are 58 different options of graduate dual degree programs between UPAEP and OSU and as a result, 112 students from UPAEP have participated in these programs as of 2007. Since 2015, UPAEP office has collaborated in the mobility of 141 people from UPAEP and OSU:  40 dual degree students from UPAEP (35% of the total just in 2 years)  4 bridge program students from UPAEP.  4 exchange students from UPAEP.  2 ELI students from UPAEP.  12 students from agriculture and veterinary from UPAEP (Academic visit).  15 students from the UPAEP High School System. ( OSU Summer Academy)  16 UPAEP members have visited OSU.  20 OSU members have visited UPAEP.  28 students from OSU have visited UPAEP (Academic visit).

United States of America Liaison Office 3 Activities Report (September 2015 to September 2017) Note: The following achievements have been made thanks to the collaboration of many people from UPAEP and OSU, and other institutions who have contributed in different ways. 1.- Strengthening the relationship between UPAEP and the College of Education from OSU:  Signature of two addendums with the School of Educational Studies at OSU to include 4 new options of dual master degrees and 1 of dual Ph. United States of America Liaison Office 6 As result of the signature of this agreement, on fall 2017, the College of Education, Health and Aviation welcomed Maribel Castañeda Muñoz, the first candidate in the Dual Ph.D. Program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. 2 - Strengthening the relationship between UPAEP and the Department of Agricultural Education at OSU: Signature of an addendum to include a new dual Ph.D. degree option (03/01/2017).   • 8. United States of America Liaison Office 7 As part of this work, Dr. Terry visited UPAEP on April 24th and 25th. He met with a candidate for the dual Ph. D. degree, with Martha Cabanas Villa, Graduate Dual Degree Coordinator, and with other UPAEP authorities to follow up the agreements that UPAEP has signed with his department and figure out new ways of collaboration. As result of the signature of this agreement, on fall 2017, the School of Agricultural Education, welcomed Luis Flores Porras, the first candidate in the Dual Ph.D. Program in Agricultural Education. 3 – Collaboration with The UPAEP High School System to find new options of internationalization in benefit of their community. (April, 13-16, 2016). Visit of Carlos Águila to Stillwater, General Director of the UPAEP High School System, and Etienne Herrera, International Affairs High School Coordinator. During this visit some meetings were held with the College of Education at OSU and also with Mr. Uwe Gordon, Principal of the Stillwater High School.

United States of America Liaison Office 8 As a result of this visit, Dr. Jenn Sanders, Head of the OSU College of Education's School of Teaching and Curriculum Leadership and Dr. Sheri Vasinda were hired by UPAEP to conduct a program evaluation of the UPAEP Prepa- Angelopolis, to assesses the strengths and needs of the other UPAEP schools in terms of English instruction, and make recommendations to implement a bilingual school model system-wide. (September 2016). Also, in a second visit to UPAEP in January 2017, Dr. Sanders and Deedee Mullanax, OSU Ph.D. student and professor of the Stillwater High School, taught the workshops titled: "Unfolding the Standards" and "Teaching Science in English".

United States of America Liaison Office 9 Nowadays, Dr. Sanders is collaborating in the review of the new curriculum of the UPAEP High School system, among other projects. 4.- Increase the exchange of knowledge both face-to-face and virtual for the benefit of our university communities (conferences, talks, workshops, research, etc.) • Arrangements for the Dr. Bridget Miller' sabbatical semester in UPAEP during the fall 2016. She was involved in some research projects, teaching and liaison with the College of Health Sciences and the Master in Public Health (She spent 3 months in Puebla). 4.  On April 28, 2016, Dr. Pedram Khosronejad, who is currently the Associate Director for Iran and Persian Gulf Studies at OSU, taught the videoconference titled "Iran Today". This lecture was conducted from the United States only for the UPAEP students. The main benefited of this international lecture were 43 students and professors from the programs of international trade and international relations.  Also, on July 11th and 13th of 2017, Dr. Khosronejad gave talks to international trade students from UPAEP.
  • 11. United States of America Liaison Office 10  On January 11th, 2017, Dr. Ken Eastman, Dean of the Spears School of Business, gave a lecture to the UPAEP community in Puebla. On February 9th, 2017 (8 am-13 pm) Took place the event titled: “A World of Opportunities: The Successful Relationship between UPAEP and Oklahoma State University” The talks were:  Dr. Henneberry and Janet Herren. An overview of UPAEP-OSU relationship / Opportunities for trade.  Rodrigo Tello, Dual Degree former student / Director of International Programs. Lecture: “My journey at Oklahoma State University”  Dra. Shida Henneberry, Lecture: International Trade Matters: The Case of US and Mexico Relations  Dr. Stephen Wanger – Lecture: “The Role of Higher Education in Emerging Global Realities”  Dr. Seltzinger, College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, Lecture: “Architecture and Place”.
  • 12. United States of America Liaison Office 11 Chocolate workshop for students of the School of Gastronomy at UPAEP, given by Chef Gene Leiterman, Dean of the School of Culinary Arts at OSUIT. This workshop was organized for the Chef Monica Orduña, Director of the School of Gastronomy at UPAEP, as part of the OSU Access Week. (February 2017) Talk of engineering students from UPAEP with Leo Van Delf, Dean of the School of Automotive Technologies at OSUIT. Dr. Eduardo Lebano and Dr. Hugo Ferrer organized this event for the students as part of the OSU Access Week.
  • 13. United States of America Liaison Office 12 On summer 2017, UPAEP invited some OSU faculty to collaborate in different projects. The College of Engineering of UPAEP invited Dr. Glenn Brown to collaborate for a month in different academic activities, among them, to collaborate in the courses of "Flow of Fluids", "Practices of Unit Operation I and II", besides gave several lectures from his area of expertise. The School of Hospitality Administration invited Dr. Taryn Price to collaborate for 3 weeks in July to teach the course "Entertainment and Recreation Organizations". In addition to this, Dr. Price gave a series of lectures concerning the study of leisure in work and sports. The Direction of the Master's Program in Educational Technology, invited Dr. Asino Tutaleni expert in educational technology to collaborate for 3 weeks in UPAEP in different academic projects. The visits of these OSU professors benefited directly to hundreds of students, teachers and members of our community, and also this visit help to advertise OSU to recruit future students.

United States of America Liaison Office 13 5– Strength the collaboration with the School of Hospitality Administration at OSU and with the School of Culinary Arts of the Institute of Technology at OSU. Visit of Alicia Yañez and Monica Orduña. (November 7-10, 2016). During the visit of the Directors of the School of Hospitality Management and the School of Gastronomy at UPAEP, several meetings were held with Dr. Frank Tsai, Assistant Director, International Programs of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration, which ranked eighth among the top 100 hospitality and tourism programs in the world, and with Chef Gene Leiterman, Dean of the School of Culinary Arts of the OSU Institute of Technology, in Okmulgee. During the meetings, we talked about different topics such as exchange programs, short bilateral term programs, bridge program, dual degrees, among many other topics. Also, as a result of this visit Chef Leiterman, visited UPAEP last February 2017 to figure out more ways of collaboration. As a result of this visit, during the Homecoming week (From October 12-20), a group of students from the School of Gastronomy will visit OSU.
  • 15. United States of America Liaison Office 14 6– Strength the collaboration with the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at OSU. Visit of Eugenio Urrutia, Undergraduate Academic Vice-president at UPAEP, Hugo Ferrer, Dean of the College of Engineering at UPAEP and José Hernández, Former NASA Astronaut and UPAEP collaborator. Oct, 22th to 26th, 2016. As part of this visit, Jose Hernandez gave an inspiring and successful lecture addressed to OSU students and employees and to the general community of Stillwater, Oklahoma. This lecture was attended by 250 people.

  • 17. United States of America Liaison Office 16 Meeting with the College of Engineering. The people who attended this meeting were: • David Henneberry, Associate Vice President, Division of International Studies & Outreach • Randy Seitsinger, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, CEAT • Chuck Bunting, Associate Dean of Research, CEAT • Daniel Fisher, Prof. Head, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; • Gouranga Banik, Prof / Head, Engineering Technology; • Jeffrey Young, Prof. / Head, Electrical & Computer Engineering; • John Veenstra, Prof. / Interim Head, Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering; • Sunderesh Heragu, Rgts Prof / Head /, Industrial Engineering • Norbert Delatte, Prof / Head, Environmental Engineering • Rob Whiteley, Prof / Head, Chemical Engineering As result of this meeting, Dr. Daniel Fisher, Head of Department of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering visited UPAEP the past January 2017 with a group of students (More information in the following section). Also, Dr. Randy Seitsinger, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, CEAT, visited UPAEP in February during the Access Week and he gave a lecture to our community. Meeting with the President of OSU, Burns Hargis,
  • 18. United States of America Liaison Office 17 Tour in some OSU engineering labs.
  • 19. United States of America Liaison Office 18 Visit to the OSU Institute of Technology (OSUIT) in Okmulgee. The Institute of Technology was visited in order to find new ways of collaborating with them. The first step will be to develop short term programs in both directions. UPAEP students could practice in the OSUIT labs and the students of the Institute of Technology could visit UPAEP and extra to taking some seminars they could benefit from the UPAEP relationship with the business sector in the State of Puebla, among many other things. As a result of this visit, two Deans visited UPAEP during the Access Week 2017.
  • 20. United States of America Liaison Office 19 7– Increase the number of Students from OSU in UPAEP. Visit of Octavio Gonzalez to OSU (Short Term & Tailor Made Program Coordinator at UPAEP). September 19-23, 2016 During this visit, many meeting where held in order to promote our programs in many areas of OSU. We met with:  Aaron Roggia, Assistant Professor of Spanish (Foreign Languages & Literatures)  Cindy Cario and Vallory Vencill from the College of Education,  Dr. Frank Tsay , Assistant Director of International Programs, School of Hotel & Restaurant Administration  Janet Herren and Rodrick Chapman from the School of International Studies,  Shane Michael Omealey, Program coordinator Art & Sciences Outreach,  Dr. Ramesh Sharda, Vice Dean of Watson Graduate School of Management,  Dr. Jose Sgarnaga, Director, Center for Advanced Global Leadership and Engagement (CAGLE),  Jeff Simpson and Marissa Hernandez , Study Abroad Office,  Sandy Pogue and Vina (OHCE INC.) ,  Kern Kenneth from the OSU Institute of Technology, and so forth. Some results of this and of previous meetings: Dr. Jose Sagarnaga, Director, Center for Advanced Global Leadership and Engagement (CAGLE), organized in cooperation with UPAEP two international programs. The first one during the spring of 2016 for a group of students of Marketing and the second in January 2017 with a group of students of the Spears School of Business.

United States of America Liaison Office 20 Also, in January 2017, as a result of the meeting with the College of Engineering during the visit of Eugenio Urrutia and Hugo Ferrer, Dr. Daniel Fisher visited UPAEP with 4 students from the School of Mechanic and Aerospace Engineering at OSU. This program was organized between the CAGLE at OSU, The Coordination of Short Term & Tailor made Programs at UPAEP and the College of Engineering at UPAEP were Dr. Hugo Ferrer, Dr. Eduardo Lebano and other professors organized all the academic activities for these group.

United States of America Liaison Office 22 8– Increase the number of students from UPAEP in OSU enrolled in different options of international programs like Graduate Dual Degrees, Bridge Program, Faculty Led Programs and High School Summer Academy. In collaboration with Martha Cabanas Villa, Graduate Dual Degree Coordinator at UPAEP, we signed 7 new options for master programs and 3 new options for doctorate programs. Nowadays, 23 Master programs of UPAEP have 55 different options in OSU, and 3 doctorate programs at UPAEP have 2 options in OSU. At the moment, 112 students from UPAEP have participated in a dual degree program with OSU. Since 2015, the UPAEP office has received in campus 40 dual degree students, 4 in the bridge program, 4 exchange students and 2 students for the English Language Institute, also we have enrolled the first students doing a dual degree at a distance.

United States of America Liaison Office 23 On July 2016, 10 students of the UPAEP High School participate in the 2016 Summer Academy, organized by Rodrigo Tello, Director of International Programs at OSU. It is worth mentioning that since 2012, the UPAEP High School System has participated in this program, adding almost 100 graduates.
  • 25. United States of America Liaison Office 24 Also, in collaboration with Professor Jose Juan Zamorano, during March 2016, OSU hosted 12 students from the School of Agricultural Engineering and the School of Veterinary form UPAEP.
  • 26. United States of America Liaison Office 25 9- Strengthening the relationship between the Business School of UPAEP and OSU. On September 2015, Dr. Felipe Burgos, Dean of the Business School of UPAEP and the Laura Nieto, Coordinator of the Bridge Program at UPAEP visited OSU. During this visit, important meetings were held with authorities from the Spears School of Business. Because of this visit subsequent meetings where carried out with the Graduate College, OSU Migration Area and other areas involved. Currently Carlo Schiavon Ceja, student form the Bachelor in Business Intelligence at UPAEP is studying the MBA at OSU. October 2016. During the visit of Eugenio Urrutia, a meeting was held with Dr. Eastman to further strengthen the relationship between business schools. Meeting with Dr. Ken Eastman, Dean of the Spears School of Business and Dr. José Sagarnaga, Director of OSU's Global Leadership and Commitment Center.

United States of America Liaison Office 26 In January 2017, Dr. Eastman and Dr. Sagarnaga visited UPAEP where they met with the Emilio Baños, President of the UPAEP University, Pablo Nuño, General Director of Internationalization and Felipe Burgos, Dean of the Business School. The objective of the meetings was to advance in different projects of collaboration between both institutions. In May 2017, Soraya Reyes Guerrero, Academic Director of UPAEP's International Trade and Business Logistics programs, visited OSU to meet with James R. Knecht, Director of OSU's Assessment & Testing Center, with Dr. Carol Johnson who is an expert on accreditation and evaluation and collaborates in the Business School of OSU, the objective of this meeting was to know how OSU operates the "learning outcomes". In addition to these meetings, Soraya Reyes met with Dr. David Henneberry, Vice President of the Division of International Studies and Outreach, Anthony Cambas, Director of OSU International Trade and Development Center and President of Partners of the Americas, Oklahoma Chapter, Ken Eastman, Dean of the Spears School of Business and José Sagarnaga, Director of the Center for Global Leadership and Commitment (CAGLE), to find new ways of collaboration. As result of this visit, a group of students form International Trade from UPAEP, will visit OSU from October 12th to 20th to participate in a seminar " Doing Business in United States: Customs and International Logistics" Welcome to Soraya Reyes to OSU by Dr. Eastman and Dr. Sagarnaga. Meeting with Dr. David Henneberry y Anthony Cambas.
