Over the previous two summers A.J. Mason has been in the role of intern for WCPO’s
Sales Department. He has gained practical experience in both digital and broadcast advertising
by working closely with the sales support team, and the Account Executives.
During his first summer at the station, A.J. was exposed to the basics of the Television
advertising process including advertising sales, the Nielsen ratings system, the production of TV
commercials, and the Account Executives’ presentation processes and strategies. He also
received Digital training including mobile, tablet and desktop. A.J. learned the processes of
reporting data gathered from digital ads, the use of different prospecting tools, and even received
his Google AdWords Certification after passing the certification test. Additionally, he assisted
with customer needs analysis, which were used in presentations to potential clients.
During his second summer A.J. was able to use his experience to provide more detailed
sales support, such as order entry. He was welcomed back by the entire sales team.
In all, he made himself an asset to the team in both his willingness to learn, and his
positive approach. Please consider him seriously for any sales related position that requires
those skills.
